Para swimmer, Toyota Ambassador Ernie Gawilan continues training amid extended lockdown

Despite being stuck at home because of the extended lockdown, Toyota ambassador and para-athlete Ernie Gawilan opted to continue his preparations for the upcoming competitions.

In a video posted on Toyota Motor Philippine’s page, Gawilan shared his routine inside his home in Samal Island which includes his land training while the enhanced community quarantine is still being implemented in Davao.

Kahit ganun man, hindi pa din tayo nawawalan ng pag-asa na ipagpatuloy yung ensayo na ginagawa natin nung regular season. Laban lang! Fight COVID-19! [Despite this, we never lose hope in continuing training as we did during the regular season. Keep fighting! Fight COVID-19!]” said the ambassador.

Toyota Motor Philippines first vice president Cristina Arevalo is hoping that Gawilan would set as an inspiration to everyone despite the ongoing crisis.

“Through our local Toyota Ambassador Mr. Ernie Gawilan, we hope to inspire everyone even though we are facing challenging times,” Arevalo said.

“Our pursuit for Mobility for All continues and to achieve that, we have to stop moving, to be able to move forward to better days ahead. Toyota Motor Philippines salutes the health care workers and frontliners who are tirelessly fighting against this pandemic and keeping us safe. Together, we can overcome this.” she added.
