An online seller of fake motorcycle shock absorbers was apprehended in Caloocan City on Tuesday.

Acting on a complaint from the marketing manager of the official distributor of YSS motorcycle suspensions in the country, elements of the Caloocan City police conducted an entrapment operation against Regio Sanchez, who was caught selling knockoff motorcycle shocks via social media.

Before the entrapment operation, the suspect and the police decoy agreed to meet at a fastfood restaurant at the corner of Rizal Avenue Extension and 9th Avenue around 5:30 p.m.

Sanchez was immediately arrested during the buy-bust operation after receiving P7,000 in exchange for two shock absorbers from the “buyer”.

The suspect is now under police custody and is facing charges of Intellectual Property Rights Law before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office. –Danilo Garcia
