Shell marks 122nd Independence Day with symbols of hope

As the nation celebrates its 122nd Independence Day, Pilipinas Shell stands together in solidarity with both public and private sector in hoping for a better tomorrow. Shell frontline staff is marking this special day with hope and freedom by sharing share origami doves for every guest in selected Shell gas stations. These doves have a simple message of hope that reveals itself when you assemble the origami.

“Everything we have witnessed through the Filipino has given us reason to hope that the country will continue to bounce back and move forward. There is a lot more that we need to do as individuals and as communities for a better tomorrow. That’s why it’s important for us to hold onto this newfound hope. Let this origami dove serve as a reminder of this,” shares Pilipinas Shell vice president for retail Randy Del Valle.

He also emphasized that for Filipinos, taking care of others comes natural especially in today’s trying times. Simple acts of kindness like lending a space in your car for other commuters or even a small gesture like sanitizing a shopping cart after you use it, inspires others to be more compassionate.

“Despite this being an unprecedented time of uncertainty and difficulty, Filipinos are not powerless. And as long as everyone thinks of and moves for each other, the Philippines will bounce back,” says Del Valle.

Aside from the origami doves, Shell wants consumers to make the most of fueling up with new bounce back offers. Customers can avail of ₱20 worth of items from Shell for every single purchase of either ₱750 or ₱500 worth of Shell FuelSave or Shell V-Power fuels. Customers can also avail of the Get Gas, Get Bigas promo where they can get one free kilo of rice for every purchase of either ₱2,000 or ₱1,500 worth of Shell FuelSave or Shell V-Power fuels at participating stations. Both promos are available until July 15 in select stations.

As part of the ‘new normal,’ Shell has also initiated better safety measures and hopes that through these, the Philippines can get back on track as soon as possible. Shell Select convenience stores have implemented heightened safety standards in the form of proper food handling, installing shields at the cashier and having alcohol-based sanitizers available at every station.  At Shell Helix Oilchange+ Lube Bays, all mechanics and receptionists have been briefed on the company’s safety procedures like thorough disinfection of vehicles and touchpoints both before and after each maintenance transaction.

“Sa bahay, sa trabaho, o kahit sa serbisyo ng isa’t isa, ang bawat isa sa atin may magagawa. Basta’t laging may magmamalasakit, Pilipinas, kaya natin ‘to,” concludes Del Valle.
