‘Mike Brewer’s World of Cars’ to premiere on Discovery Channel on Oct. 15

Car enthusiasts will be getting a treat with Discovery Channel’s upcoming series Mike Brewer’s World of Cars, premiering on Thursday, October 15 at 9:00 PM. Viewers will be exploring different parts of the motoring world with English car trader and television presenter Mike Brewer as he endeavors to restore classic cars and save them from being thrown into the crusher.

According to Brewer, audiences can expect a diverse cast of personalities from the motoring world along with an array of intriguing classic cars.

“Most people would think that members of the lowrider culture in Los Angeles are threatening but they were actually the most loving, wonderful, family-oriented people I’ve ever met,” Brewer said about his experience with lowrider culture, which he explores in one episode.

As the name suggests, lowriders are modified cars with extended bodies that just barely graze the road. Other distinctive modifications are custom wheels, multi-layered lacquered jobs, and lavish interior designs. It was popularized in the mid 1900s by members of the Latino community to proudly showcase their heritage in a fun and playful fashion.

Aside from a lowrider from Los Angeles, Brewer was also able to salvage a hot rod from the Mojave Desert and a 1960 Mini from England.

“I got to speak with Gene Winfield, a 94 year-old artisan who still twists and bends metal and makes amazing hot rods. I also went all the way over to England where a 1960 Mini body shell was being made with the original factory machinery today as a brand new body shell,” Brewer added.

The show also features drag race cars for people who have a need for speed and monster trucks for those who prefer towering hunks of metal. Catch all these amazing four wheelers on Mike Brewer’s World of Cars only on Discovery Channel, available on Sky Cable CH 39, Cignal TV CH 140, and Destiny Cable CH 56.
