Ivana Alawi gifts mom new SUV in viral prank video

During the past year, actress, model and social media sensation Ivana Alawi has made tons of viral videos, stunts and pranks that made her fans laugh, cry or giggle with excitement.

For the New Year, her first prank video revolved buying an SUV for her mom Fatima Marbella a.k.a Mama Alawi, and then staging a fake fight to reveal the surprise.

Getting a new SUV for mom

Titled ‘Naprank Si Mama Alawi + Surprise! *Iyak Sila* | Ivana Alawi’ the 23-minute video started on Day 1, with Ivana visiting a car dealership to check out several car models that she thinks will be the perfect gift.

After getting a feel of a few model units, Ivana settled for a top-of-the-line Ford Expedition Limited SUV in Metallic Blue color. The vehicle is powered by a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine and features a svelte, roomy interior that can seat up to 8 people.

Ever the tech user, Ivana paid for the vehicle with 3,731650 Lyka Gems, transferred to the dealership via the Lyka Mobile App. After finishing the required paperwork, Ivana drove the SUV herself to hide it.

“Kaya ko binilihan sila mama muna ng kotse, kasi gusto ko sila muna bago ako. Pag lahat sila nakabili na ng kotse, bibilhan ko na sarili ko.” Ivana quips.

Less than a day since posting the prank on Facebook, it garnered more than 61,000 reactions, 1,500 comments and 1,100 shares. On YouTube, it has achieved more than 3 million views, 273,000 shares and 18,500 comments. In Twitter, the post had 4,600 likes, 360 re-tweets and 232 comments.

Prank and surprise reveal

On Day 2, Ivana staged a fight with her brother Hashim. With cameras rolling discreetly, they fought while Mama Alawi looked on. An angered Hashim left the room abruptly, prompting Mama Alawi to follow him to the garage.

Here, siblings Ivana, Hashim and Mona yelled surprise, pointing to the newly bought vehicle parked with a ribbon in the garage.

Startled, a teary-eyed Mama Alawi couldn’t believe that the new full-sized SUV in front is hers, until Ivana showed the paper work with Mama’s name as registered owner.

“Sakin talaga to? Thank you, ang sweet nyo naman. Hindi ko naman kailangan yan, kayo lang masaya na ako. I love you all,” she muttered, while being enclosed by hugs from the siblings.

The siblings remarked that this is the first time they saw their mom cry.

After all, if a fully paid Ford SUV arrived at your doorstep as a gift, wouldn’t you shed tears of joy too?
