The country’s newest auto industry player, Changan is offering one compact SUV that could serve as the perfect confidence booster: the CS75 Plus.
Dubbed as Changan’s “Intelligent SUV,” the head-turning design has helped it bag the Supreme Gold Award at the 2019-2020 International CMF Design Awards in China for acing the six-point criteria of innovation, aesthetics, functionality, stability, environmental protection, and emotion.
Evoking a sporty, modern aesthetic, the CS75 Plus sports one of the longest wheelbases in its class—2,710 mm. Together with its 1,865-mm overall width, it cuts an imposing stance. Brilliant LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a large panoramic sunroof are just some of its unique design traits. More than that, the paint finish even uses what Changan calls “liquid metal.” This combines the unmistakable sheen of metallic paints with the high luster of pearlescent finishes.
Inside, the CS75 Plus has a futuristic 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, red and black Nappa leather seats, and an N95-certified air filtration system. Standard features also include a push-button engine start/stop, and automatic climate control.
Adding credence to its sporty looks is a turbocharged 1.5-liter direct-injected gasoline engine mated to a 6-speed automatic. All in all, it makes 178 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque. Furthermore, it also comes with driver selectable modes with three presets: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
In terms of safety, it comes with a suite of active and passive intelligent safety systems. Standard are 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, an electronic parking brake; a 360-degree panoramic camera; and even a tire pressure monitoring system.
As a global strategic car model, Changan is positioning the CS75 Plus to be all about innovation—be it through its design or technology.
It comes in four shades: White, Gray, Black, and Blue and is priced at P 1.299 million. This price includes Changan Philippines’s 5-year/150,000-kilometer warranty and free preventive maintenance service for the first year (or up to 20,000 kilometers).
