J&T Express expands Foton delivery fleet to address growing logistics demand

Riding high on the e-commerce surge in the country brought about by the pandemic, PH Global Jet Express Inc. (J&T Express Philippines), the leading e-commerce delivery company in Southeast Asia, recently bolstered its transport capabilities by expanding its fleet of delivery trucks from FOTON Motor Philippines, Inc. (FOTON) to address growing logistics demand. To date, most of J&T Express Philippines fleet of trucks and commercial vehicles are composed of FOTON units. This number is projected to increase even more as the company adds more branches and offers more products and services to its ever-growing client base.

“As part of our commitment to provide everyday solutions to common logistical problems across the Philippines, it is important for us to forge a partnership with a fleet provider that provides us quality units with the latest advancement in technology and customer service support. Indeed, FOTON has been consistent with their promise,” J&T Express Philippines Vice President Zoe Chi said during the turnover ceremony of the 500th unit from FOTON held at the FOTON assembly plant at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

Through this significant partnership and timely fleet expansion, J&T Express Philippines can continue serving hard-to-reach areas in the country through its network of more than 600 branches across the Philippines while supporting local online enterprises amid the pandemic.

This expansion comes at a time when more and more businesses are turning to the digital space to make their presence and promote their brands as traditional brick-and-mortar shops were hit hard by the pandemic.

FOTON President Rommel Sytin said that their preparation for this development started “more than two years ago when both of our companies partnered together to provide stronger logistics mobility service to adapt with the ever-growing demands of delivery and the booming success of e-commerce,.”

Starting with the initial turnover of 60 units of FOTON Tornado 2E E4 F-Vans, J&T Express Philippines has deepened its close collaboration with FOTON and solidified the partnership. At present, J&T Express Philippines has acquired fleets of FOTON commercial vehicles ranging from Gratour Series (GS) to Light Duty Trucks (LDT), up to the Heavy Duty Trucks (HDT).
