Shell celebrates World Motorcycle Day with ‘Bida Bikers’ care services

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation celebrated the World Motorcycle Day last June 21 with the country’s motorcycling community by giving 1 free liter of Shell Advance AX7 motor oil each to motorcyclists who gassed up in selected Shell mobility stations across the Philippines.

During World Motorcycle Day, more than 5,000 motorcyclists received their free liter of Shell Advance AX7 motor oil after fueling up with P150 worth of Shell V-Power gasoline.  Shell Advance AX7 is a semi-synthetic oil designed for more efficient use of gasoline and a smoother ride. Even under stressful road conditions, it helps ensure that the bike engine delivers high power and torque, improving control and comfort and enhancing the excitement and comfort of the ride.

“We recognize the agile, reliable transport that the motorcycle provides especially to Filipinos who want a speedy and safe ride. We are committed to offer our motorcyclists quality fuels and lubricants that will power up their engine, reduce road risks by guarding it from materials that can clog it, and ultimately lengthen the lifespan of their bikes,” Shell’s Marketing Delivery Manager of Mobility Arvin Obmerga said.

Motorcycles are increasingly relied upon as a form of personal mobility in the Philippines. Just in the last couple of years, the growth in this segment of vehicles has been remarkable. This became even more evident during the pandemic as it became one of the main modes of professional transport, enabling people to safely go to their workplaces, take trips to buy essential items, and even make it a source of livelihood for some.

Shell recognizes the unique needs of these growing number of motorcycle riders, and launched the Shell Bida Biker fuel lanes last March 2020, which was a first in the country. Shell pioneered the establishment of these lanes in select Shell stations to cater to all motorcycle riders, offering them a combination of premier fuel products as well as free services, like helmet and motorcycle seat cleaning, that helped keep their vehicles in top shape.

Shell Advance AX7 is formulated with Shell Active Cleansing Technology which helps prevent dirt particles from sticking together to form deposits inside the engine. It ensures that the engine delivers more power and response, reduces its noise and vibration, and protects and prolongs its life. This is further enhanced with the combination of Shell V-Power, which is formulated with DYNAFLEX Technology that improves acceleration, makes engine performance more efficient, and provides an overall smoother ride. As Shell’s Fuels Brand Manager Jerome David described this breakthrough fuel, “Shell V-Power makes motorcycles powerful and, to date, is our best performance fuel for these vehicles.”

Biker Alvin Flores, a resident of Las Piñas, acknowledged that Shell’s free oil promotion gave them more mileage while reducing their gas expenses. He said, “Maswerte po kami na naka-avail kami ng libreng langis sa halagang P150. Malaking tulong na po, lalo na ngayong panahon na naghahanap kami kung saan makakatipid.”

Agustin Estrada, who rides his motorcycle for his everyday livelihood said, “Maraming salamat sa free 1liter na AX7. Malaking tulong ito at malaki ang matitipid dahil nasa P303 din ang 1L na AX7. Ikakarga ko nalang ang halagang natipid ko sa pagbili ng langis. Malaking tulong sa aming mga motorista ang mga special promotion and discounts ng Shell para sa amin.”

During the celebration, some retailers of Pilipinas Shell mobility stations nationwide also dressed up the sites to reflect the motorcycle community culture, while offering premium items such as Shell fuel vouchers, biker accessories, and helmets for bikers the whole day to complement the national promotion.

Pilipinas Shell joined the World Motorcycle Day on June 21 in unity with motorcyclists around the world, marking the special day with special offers as a way of extending care and support to its 2-wheel customers who are almost always on the road.
