Former Bentley Design Director now sketching for Geely

Geely Auto Group has officially announced the hiring of Stefan Sielaff as the Vice President of Global Design. He succeeded Peter Horbury who moved to Group Lotus as Senior Vice President of Design.

Sielaff will oversee design for cars under Geely Auto, Lynk & Co., Geometry, and the EV brand Zeekr while being based in Gothenburg, Sweden. He is bringing with him more than 30 years of experience working for iconic brands.

“We believe that his years of design experience will further enhance Geely Auto Group portfolio of brands with the ultimate goal of providing the best products to consumers.” said Andy An Conghui, President of Geely Holding Group.

Seilaff started his career with Audi in 1990 as an interior designer and worked his way up until he moved to Spain in 1994 to oversee the Design Center of the Volkswagen Group. He returned to Audi in 1996 before leaving the group in 2002 to become the Design Director for Interior at Daimler-AG.

Audi was never far from his mind though as he returned after only 3 years with Daimler, and became the Director of Design for Audi and later on, Volkswagen. Sielaff then moved to Bentley and stayed for 6 years, until he resigned earlier this year. Some of his iconic creations include the Audi A1, Audi A7, Mercedes-Benz CLS, and the Bentley Bentayga SUV.

His years of experience with luxury brands will surely usher in a new era of design for the Geely brand.
