Champion Karter Joaquin Garrido wins Phoenix PULSE Young Drivers Program: ON TRACK

With it’s aim to continue giving opportunities to push a young racer’s dream to reality, Phoenix PULSE Philippines Inc. along with Tuason Racing brought back  Phoenix PULSE’s Young Driver’s Program this year.

For it’s 2nd season, the brand’s goal is to breed and nurture the best talents on the track and help them grow as a racer. The competition also gave the young racers a chance to represent Phoenix Fuels and be trained by Tuason Racing to be the best driver that they can be.

Nine young, driven, aspiring racers who came from different backgrounds competed to be part of the Phoenix PULSE Racing Team this year.

The roster includes Sodi World Series 4H Endurance Overall Champion Aira Medrano, 2020 National Karter of The Year (and the youngest of the bunch!) Joaquin Garrido,  Phili Mini Racers’ Marcus Nicola Victa, Kalayaan Cup 12 Hours Endurance Race Open B Team Champion John Millard Lacuna, Philippine Rallycross Championship UV 4th placer Lance Andre Guballa, Phoenix Pulse Technology National Slalom Series’ Winner Marc Bagsic, FORS-2018 2ND Overall Bracket E winner Royce Sarmiento, Touge Battle Ladies Class Champion Hazel Ramirez, and  Sparco Cup Track Attack Group 3 3rd Class Winner 2020 Jorge Rafael Briones.

The diverse set of racers showed immense potential and great personality that definitely fits the brand. But out of nine racers, only two will be chosen to be part of Phoenix PULSE Racing Team.

The esteemed-set of judges who evaluated the drivers are the ff: Tuason Racing’s CEO and Founder JP Tuason, Phoenix Petroleum Philippine’s Category Marketing Manager-Fuels’ Alex Noveno and Philstar Wheel’s Enzo Delos Reyes.

After further evaluation, 15-year-old Joaquin Garrido stood out as he showed strong driving skills, exuded confidence and profound media presence that fits him to be part of the Phoenix PULSE Racing Team. Aira Medrano placed second, who displayed her passion and fighting spirit that shows how girls deserve to be on the track too, while Jorge Rafael Briones placed 3rd,  holding his head up high representing Nueva Ecija.

“I didn’t really expect to be drafted into the Phoenix FV1 team after just one race, So I was really pumped up for that. And I will just like to thank you again for giving me an opportunity  to show my potential in the Formula V1 and I hope to see you guys on track!”the newest Phoenix PULSE driver said.

Garrido won not just the bragging rights as the new Phoenix PULSE Brand Ambassador, He will also represent the team as a driver for the GITI-Formula V1 Race Challenge. Garrido will also be trained and managed by OTR Motorsports, will have his own Phoenix PULSE Racing Suit and more prizes to be loaded on his Limitless App.
