New 2022 Porsche Taycan arrives in PH

Porsche continues to pioneer high-performance electric-powered mobility in the Philippines through the introduction of the new, 2022 Porsche Taycan fully electric sports car, with the latest version arriving fitted with numerous innovative features. In line with record worldwide deliveries of the groundbreaking model, demand in the Philippines has also surpassed forecasts, and the arrival of an updated version is seen to further strengthen the popularity of the four-door sports car.

In the first nine months of the year, 28,640 customers around the world have taken deliveries of their Porsche Taycan — a figure that complements the market performance of Porsche’s iconic 911 sports car. Sales of the Porsche Taycan in the first half of 2021 have also topped its full-year result in 2020, proving that Porsche’s early adoption of an electromobility strategy is paying off.

Found in the 2022 Porsche Taycan’s cabin are a 4+1 seating layout, multiple digital displays, a Bose Surround Sound system, and numerous other infotainment features.

The 2022 Porsche Taycan pays homage to the 911’s classic rear-engine/rear-drive layout by having its Permanent magnet Synchronous Motor (PSM) on the rear axle. The PSM is coupled to a two-speed transmission and Porsche’s Performance Battery. With a powertrain that operates on an 800-volt system structure instead of the usual 400 volts for electric cars, the latest model produces up to 408 PS, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and to reach a top speed of 230 km/h.

An innovative charging solution for the 2022 Porsche Taycan expands the charging options available to the model, which also includes a high-powered direct current (DC) charger — the first of such type in the country. Located at Porsche Center Philippines in EDSA Greenhills, the high-powered DC charger is identical to chargers used by Porsche in other markets worldwide, and allows a Taycan to charge in just under 30 minutes.

With both AC and DC chargers available (like this high-powered DC charger located at Porsche Center Philippines in EDSA Greenhills, the 2022 Porsche Taycan is guaranteed access to charging solutions at home and on the road.

The high-powered DC charger complements the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect that operates on alternating current (AC), and which comes as a standard equipment in every Taycan. The Porsche Mobile Charger Connect allows Taycan owners a simple and convenient way in which to charge their car at home overnight. With both DC and AC options available, Taycan owners are guaranteed access to charging solutions at home and on the road.

Like all Taycan variants, the 2022 Porsche Taycan has two charging ports located in each of its front fenders. The Porsche Mobile Charger Connect can be plugged into either of the ports, while the port on the passenger side can be used for DC charging. Both charging ports are covered by electrically operated doors that slide open or close via a simple hand gesture, a special feature ordered by Porsche Philippines for the latest model.

Other items distinguishing the 2022 Porsche Taycan are 20-inch Taycan Turbo Aero wheels, and black front apron, side sills and rear diffuser. Fitted as standard are LED headlights with PDLS, as well as six-piston brakes in front and four-piston brakes at the rear.

Defining the 2022 Porsche Taycan’s cabin are a 4+1 seating layout, a 16.8-inch free-standing curved instrument cluster, a central 10.9-inch infotainment display, an 8.4-inch center console touchscreen, and another display for the front passenger — an optional equipment which Porsche Philippines specified for new Taycan models. Also included among the numerous cabin features are comfort seats in front with 14-way power adjustment; Bose Surround Sound; four-zone climate control; Park Assist with a reverse camera; an ionizer to clean up the air in the cabin; ambient lighting; and Porsche Electric Sport Sound, which modulates the natural sound emitted by the car’s electric powertrain. Located in front and the rear of the Taycan are spacious luggage compartments.

Integrated into the 2022 Porsche Taycan is the Porsche 4D Chassis Control that analyzes and synchronizes all chassis systems in real time. The latest model is equipped with adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology, which is supplemented by the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damper control system.
