Fully electric e-tron models charge Audi’s performance

Global deliveries of electric models more than double in 2021; new e-tron range to arrive in PH soon

Audi continues to accelerate on its path toward sustainable premium mobility as evidenced in its deliveries of fully electric models, which increased by more than double in 2021. The brand introduced more electric models than conventional cars last year, allowing its product portfolio of fully electric models to grow more than double as well.

Audi sold 81,894 fully electric models in 2021, a 57.5-percent spike from the previous year. Intending to have more than 20 fully electric models in its portfolio by 2025, Audi will exclusively introduce to market fully electric models beginning 2026.

In line with this charge toward sustainable electromobility, Audi Philippines is soon bringing to its showrooms the fully electric Audi e-tron SUV, the e-tron GT four-door grand tourer, and the dynamic RS e-tron GT. All three models can travel more than 400 kilometers when fully charged.

Audi will bring into the Philippines its electromobility expertise through models like the fully electric e-tron SUV — which will be launched soon.

The Audi e-tron SUV offers the space, comfort and utility of a full-size sport-utility vehicle. It also carries a five-star safety rating from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Euro NCAP, and is also named a Top Safety Pick+ by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The model is equipped with two electric motors sending 408 PS and 664 Nm to an electric quattro all-wheel drive system.

Combining emotional design with a fully electric, zero-emission power plant, the Audi e-tron GT outputs 476 PS and 630 Nm (and as much as 530 PS in overboost), illustrating how exciting electric-powered mobility can be. The flagship RS e-tron GT, also with two electric motors powering a quattro system, delivers 598 PS and 830 Nm (or a maximum output of 646 PS in overboost). This makes the RS e-tron GT the most powerful production model Audi has ever made.

As Audi gradually phases out production of its internal combustion engines — all Audi models will be purely electric starting in 2033 — the company has earmarked sizeable investments for electrification and hybridization, emphasizing its clear commitment to electromobility.

“We’re looking to the future with confidence. With ‘Vorsprung 2030,’ we have defined a clear strategy, and our courage to make lasting changes is being rewarded — high demand for electric vehicles from Audi confirms our early decision in favor of zero-emission drive systems,” said Hildegard Wortmann, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Audi AG.

“We are taking this momentum with us into 2022 and systematically pressing ahead with our transformation. The large number of incoming orders also shows that we have the right portfolio,” she added.

Reflecting this transformation, Audi Philippines has also committed to various initiatives that lay the groundwork for the wider adoption of fully electric models in the country — like ensuring these vehicles can easily be charged at home. The company is also establishing dedicated service facilities for electric vehicles, and is partnering with stakeholders which promote ecologically conscientious practices.
