When Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. brought in the 11th-generation Civic last November, there were three variants available for the popular compact sedan – the base S, the middle child V, and the top-spec RS. Now, the Japanese automaker has announced that the mid-grade Honda Civic V Turbo is available for viewing at all Honda Cars dealerships nationwide starting February 15, 2022.
In comparison to the top RS trim, the Civic V differentiates itself with non-blacked-out elements, especially on the side mirrors and the shark’s fin antenna. It does come with the full LED ensemble, including the headlights, fog lights, DRLs, and tail lamps. It’s also equipped with a set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, as opposed to the matte black 18-inchers from RS. The entire rear end has also been redone, having a new pair of LED taillights that elegantly illuminates in the night.
Inside, the Honda Civic V Turbo variant comes with a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Audio is routed to an 8-speaker audio system. It also comes with automatic climate control, rear air vents, and a 7-inch digital display with an analog speedometer. The digital display is customizable via the buttons on the steering wheel.
Of course, the star of the show is the turbocharged 1.5-liter DOHC VTEC gasoline four-banger engine that’s standard across the Civic range. It makes 178 metric horses and 240Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This compact sedan gets distinct driving modes including Econ and Normal.
Another standard feature across the Civic lineup, including the V variant, is the Honda SENSING suite of safety features that offer “safety for everyone.” This is in line with Honda’s 2050 global environment and safety mission to realize carbon neutrality and zero traffic collision fatalities. The Honda SENSING package uses a single monocular camera with a wider field of view combined with improved software offering better vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrian, and road marking recognition. In combination with the Civic’s other passive safety features, the ASEAN-NCAP has awarded the compact sedan with a coveted 5-star safety rating.

- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low- Speed Follow (LSF)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)
- Auto High-Beam (AHB)
- Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN)
In addition, customers may expect top-notch safety performance on the new Civic through its safety features, such as Speed Sensing Door Locks, Multi-View Reverse Camera, and Smart Entry.
Other features include Driver and Front Passenger Airbags, Side Airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Child Lock, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchor, Security Alarm, and immobilizer.
