Peugeot unveils new Traveller Premium

Premium French car brand Peugeot is well on track in its mission to revitalize the brand in the Philippine market. Following the recent back-to-back launches of the new 5008 and 3008 SUVs, Peugeot is introducing the new Traveller Premium as its latest model since re-launching the brand in January under its new Philippine distributor, Astara.

Imported from France, the new Traveller Premium distinguishes itself from the rest of the people movers with its distinctive European design, both in its elegant exterior and in its finely crafted interior.

It offers a spacious premium cabin, and promises an enhanced driving experience for the driver and utmost long-distance riding comfort and safety for all passengers with its host of amenities as well as safety and security features.

“Our expanding lineup helps to position Peugeot as a brand of choice for discerning Filipinos looking for premium European vehicles that promise a new mode of modern and stylish travel,” said Maricar Parco, brand head of Peugeot Philippines.

The allure of the Peugeot’s new MPV is in its elegantly upscale design, characterized by modern touches on the exterior that give the vehicle a compelling presence on the road.

Up front, the trapezoidal chrome grille features the lion in the center of a three-dimensional rendition, instead of the usual horizontal blades. Xenon headlights with LED signature lighting complete the bold and upmarket visage of the new Traveller Premium.

Sleek side panels are structured with sharp lines and sculpted by concave doorsills, adding to the character of the smooth wheel arches extending out from them. The sleek lines enhance aerodynamics for a quiet ride (and reduced fuel consumption) while the high window line creates a modern profile.

Both the driver and passengers are assured of comfort and spacious interiors in the new Traveller Premium. With a longer body measuring 5.30 meters, proportions are harmonious between the front end, the driver position and the rear space. The result is a driving position that’s more car-like than van-like. The extended rear overhang translates to a redesigned cabin that gives passengers more space between rows and in the cargo area.

The new Traveller Premium comes in 7- and 8-seater versions. The 8-seater has a 2-3-3 seating configuration while the top-of-the-line 7-seater comes with a 2-2-3 seating configuration, enabling business travelers to hold mobile meetings by swiveling the second row VIP captain’s chairs to face the third row. Each VIP captain’s chair also comes with a retractable sliding table to provide an area conducive to work. Access to the third-row seats is easy; a single control folds the seat back and provides a wide passage to the rear bench seat.

The interior ambience is functional and dedicated to passenger comfort and convenience with features such as leather seats, power sliding doors with hands-free access, LED mood lighting, automatic air conditioning with air vents up to the rear, a panoramic glass roof, sunshade curtains on all side windows, rear tailgate with opening window, and a rear luggage cover. Four 12V sockets distributed in the passenger compartment, as well as a 220V socket and a USB port are provided for charging mobile devices.

The Traveller Premium has improved ergonomics and driving comfort with its elevated seating position, making it a pleasure to drive. This is complemented by elegant materials around the instrument panel, the leather steering wheel, the 7-inch capacitive touchscreen and a 3.5-inch heads-up display.

The electrohydraulic-assisted steering with the anti-roll bar position in front of the steering rack optimizes the vehicle’s turning circle. It provides minimal assistance for parking maneuvers and keeps driving consistency more sustained—all for a more responsive and car-like feel.

Under the hood of the Peugeot’s new Traveller Premium is the brand’s proven 2.0L BlueHDI Turbo engine. Mated with a 6-speed automatic, the engine gives an output of 150hp and 370Nm of torque.

The new Traveller Premium comes with a wide range of latest-generation driving assistance features such as ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Climb Assist, Driver Attention Alert, Programmable Cruise Control with Speed Limiter and Blind Spot Assist.

In addition, the Traveller Premium comes with a number of security features and conveniences for added peace of mind, including Keyless Entry and Start, Electric Child Safety Lock, Front and Rear Parking Sensor, Tire Pressure Detection, and Rear-View Camera Visiopark 1 (180 degrees).

The new Peugeot Traveller Premium is priced at Php 2,990,000 for the 8-seater and Php 3,100,000 for the 7-seater and comes in three colors: Bianca White, Artense Grey and Nera Black. It has a warranty of 3 years/100,000 kilometers and periodic checks every 10,000 kilometers.

Customers are invited to book a test drive by contacting their nearest Peugeot Philippines dealer. The new Traveller Premium will be on display at the Peugeot stand at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) from April 7 to 10 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.
