Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI), the official distributor of Changan vehicles in the country, stands strong and optimistic with the ground breaking of its future national headquarters at the Auto Resources Center (ARC) in Calamba City, Laguna last May 17, 2022.
The CMPI National Headquarters is envisioned to be the flagship of operations excellence and training hub for Changan in the Philippines.
Soon to rise in the 20-hectare property of ARC is a 2,390-square-meter predominantly glass and aluminum structure, symbolic of Changan’s bid to establish its brand of premium, future-forward mobility in the Philippine market.
The entire complex, inspired by Changan International Corporation’s (CIC) global corporate identity, will house a spacious modern showroom, full service workshops, offices, and training facilities for CMPI’s Sales, After Sales, Customer Relations, and Marketing personnel.
Mayor-Elect of Calamba City, Hon. Ross Rizal, City of Calamba Provincial Engineer, Mister Pablo Del Mundo, Barangay Chairman Aigrette Lajara, Councilor Rajay Lajara, Metriccon Co, Inc. President, Mister Joseph Alarilla, Aura Builders General Manager, Engineer Eduardo De Perio Teaño and the CMPI and Pan Asia Property Management Teams headed by its President and CEO, Miss Maria Fe Perez-Agudo took up ceremonial shovels to officially mark the start of construction, deemed CMPI’s definitive step towards fulfilling its big dream for the future of Philippine mobility.
“The CMPI National Headquarters will be our hub for exponential growth…. We are not only breaking ground for our brand and CMPI, we are also opening new opportunities for the people of Calamba, the neighboring cities and, ultimately, for our industry and our nation,” affirmed Ms. Agudo.
The CMPI National Headquarters is projected to be up and running by December 2022 and set to be the nerve center for strengthening brand presence in the country.
Since its launch in November 2020, CMPI has introduced five Changan models, the Alsvin sedan, CS35 Plus SUV, the CS75 Plus SUV, the CS95, and the pure electric sedan EADO EV 460. This year, CMPI launched the New CS35 Plus and expects to further expand its portfolio of innovative products and services.
This year, CMPI Principal, Changan International Corporation (CIC), on its 160th year as a leading China auto brand, proudly joins the ranks of the world’s top 15 auto makers with total sales of 2.3 million (M) units in 2021. It is poised to be a dominant player in the new energy vehicle (NEV) and autonomous driving market by 2025. Known to dedicate 5% of its annual sales to research and development (R&D), CIC recently announced a $12.55 billion (B) priority investment on NEVs by the end of 2025 with projected sales of 1.5 million (M) electric cars and plug-in hybrids or some 35% of the company’s total sales for that year. For 2022 alone, Changan president Wang Jun said that they aim to launch eight NEV models in the Chinese market.
