Mototesto sets the first overland competition in the Philippines

“The main goal of creating this event is to showcase the beauty of the Philippines, and strengthen the bond with our Mototesto customers, while fostering unforgettable experiences with them,” said Tim Tuazon, CEO of Mototesto.

Teams should be self reliant in all their needs including parts for the vehicles, fuel, food, water, and electricity that should last for the whole event.

Take playing on the dirt to the next level as Mototesto and Petron teamed up to create the first overland competition in the Philippines – the 2022 Petron Philippine Overland Expedition: Pacific Coast Challenge. It will take place from October 12 to 16, 2022 covering the paved and unpaved Pacific coastline of the country starting at Pampanga to General Nakar, Quezon.

Overlanding has gained popularity lately thanks to discovery of serene places that are hard to go to with normal cars. Only the toughest cars setup’d for off-roading driven by passionate drivers are able to explore such unchartered territories. These places usually have no signal nor electricity, and people usually camp at their destination for multiple days to enjoy being off the grid.

The first Philippine Overland Expedition will take you through mud, sand, river crossings, gravel paths, and mountain sides in 4 days and 3 nights. Points will be given as teams complete their tasks that will challenge their skills on recovery, mechanical, and intelligence. They will also be required to help with indigenous communities in General Nakar and the community leaders themselves will reward the points.

It will all be tallied at the finish line and the winning team will be proclaimed as the first Petron Philippine Overland Expedition Champion, together with bragging rights and P500,000 in cash. 2nd place will have P200,000 cash, P100,000 for the 3rd place, and there will be 2 special awards worth P75,000 each. Mototesto and Petron will also donate up to P1,000,000 to different communities in General Nakar, Quezon.
