Having set in motion the automotive industry’s transition to full electromobility with the introduction of the 100-percent electric Audi e-tron in 2017—ahead of any competitor—Audi continues to increase global deliveries and see sustained demand for its completely electric-powered Audi e-tron model range.
In the first quarter of 2023, Audi picked up the pace of its electrification roadmap, delivering 34,584 Audi e-tron models worldwide. The tally represents a 43-percent increase from the same period last year. Significantly, the share of the 100-percent electric e-tron models in Audi’s first-quarter result rose to 8.2 percent.
Audi CEO Markus Duesmann said the performance indicates the strength of Audi’s electric vehicle portfolio. And with the largest model offensive in the brand’s history scheduled in the second half of the year, Audi is again leading the charge in the accelerated trend toward electric mobility. Set to be launched are more than 10 new fully electric models between late 2023 and late 2025. The model offensive will be initiated by the introduction of the all-new Audi Q6 e-tron.
The Audi Group, which includes Bentley and Lamborghini, started off the year with strong delivery figures in nearly all regions. In the first quarter, the group delivered some 422,000 Audi, Bentley and Lamborghini vehicles, an 8-percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Rising along with delivery figures is the company’s revenue, which climbed 18.2 percent to nearly €17 billion. Credited as main contributors to the result are the 100-percent electric Audi Q4 e-tron and Audi e-tron GT, helped by the Audi Q5 and Audi Q7 SUVs.
In the Philippines, five new models comprise the 2023 Audi e-tron range—the Audi e-tron SUV Advance, e-tron SUV Premium, e-tron Sportback, e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT. This means Audi Philippines offers the domestic market the widest selection of 100-percent electric vehicles, a position no other automotive brand can match.
Audi Philippines have sold the most number of 100-percent electric vehicles in the market. Customers who have taken deliveries of Audi e-tron models have expressed satisfaction over the vehicles’ performance, suitability for daily use, long driving range, and the convenience offered by home and destination charging solutions. Other key benefits cited by customers are their huge savings on high fuel prices, and the Audi e-tron models’ exemption from the plate number-coding scheme.
Audi Philippines provides every Audi e-tron model with a mobile and a home charging system, which make driving the 100-percent electric models as easy as using any digital mobile device. Setting up a home charging system is no more complicated than installing an air-conditioning unit.
Complementing the home charging systems are the ever-expanding network of public charging facilities. In addition to Audi Philippines’ strategically located destination charging facilities, major shopping mall groups, resort and property developers, and energy companies are continuing to install charging stations in their establishments. Notably, majority of these charging facilities features the Type 2 plug used by the 100-percent electric Audi e-tron model range.
