Audi leads the EV charge with new 100% electric Q8 e-tron

The brand continues to revolutionize mobility by driving progress through technology

Just as Audi ushered all-wheel drive technology in premium passenger cars with the release of the original Quattro over four decades ago, the brand continues to revolutionize mobility via the introduction of the 100% electric Audi e-tron.

The name “e-tron” signaled Audi’s drive toward an electric-powered future. While “quattro” went on to identify every all-wheel drive Audi, all 100% electric Audi models receive the “e-tron” badge.

With the introduction of the new 100% electric Q8 e-tron locally, Audi goes on to spearhead the Philippines’ transition to clean-energy mobility. The new Q8 e-tron charges up the e-tron’s success story, and its arrival in the Philippines further drives Audi’s unassailable EV leadership in the country.

Like the sporty Audi e-tron GT, the new Q8 e-tron (left) has two electric motors powering its front and rear axles, creating Audi’s signature quattro all-wheel drive system in electric form.

Boasting of the widest range of 100% electric vehicles, Audi’s local lineup is composed of five e-tron models: the new Q8 e-tron 55 SUV, Q8 e-tron 50 SUV, Q8 e-tron Sportback, and the RS e-tron GT and e-tron GT four-door coupes.

The new Q8 e-tron models redefine the original e-tron’s capabilities and features with crisper styling, better aerodynamics, faster charging times, and a higher battery capacity that increases the vehicle’s driving range.

The Q8 e-tron 55 SUV produces 408 hp and 664 Nm of torque. Depending on weather, road conditions, terrain and driving styles, the model can travel up to 582 km when fully charged.

The new Audi Q8 e-tron 50 SUV outputs 335 hp and 664 Nm, and has a driving range of up to 491 km when fully charged.

Audi boasts of the widest range of 100% electric vehicles locally. The lineup is composed of five e-tron models, including the new Q8 e-tron Sportback.

The new Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback, which fuses the practicality of an SUV with the sleek silhouette of a coupe, boasts the same power and torque ratings as the Q8 e-tron 55 SUV. But because of its more aerodynamic shape, the Q8 e-tron Sportback has a longer driving range — it can travel up to 600 km when fully charged.

For its part, the RS e-tron GT delivers 646 hp and 830 Nm, so it can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. This capability makes the RS e-tron GT the most powerful production model Audi has ever produced, and matches the performance of supercars like the Audi R8.

The e-tron GT, meanwhile, produces 530 hp and 630 Nm. With this output, the car can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in only 4.1 seconds. When fully charged, the e-tron GT can travel as much as 500 kilometers while the RS e-tron GT can reach as much as 481 kilometers.

The sporty RS e-tron GT and e-tron GT, as well as all three new Q8 e-tron models, are fitted with two electric motors — one each powering their front and rear axles. Providing superlative traction and handling on any terrain and condition, this configuration creates Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel drive system. Only now it comes in 100% electric form.
