With road trips bound to increase exponentially during the Undas and Christmas season, ride-hailing app inDrive continuously ensures that all users experience safe and secure rides with #inDriveLigtasBiyahe. This means the app has strengthened its security features and reinforced its annual training program for its partner drivers including road safety and regulations, and company service standards.
For Afanasii Petrov, inDrive’s Business Development Manager for Southeast Asia Macroregion, APAC, it is essential for the app to regularly upgrade its security protocols and features. He said, “In inDrive, we harness the power of machine learning and bank on our partnership with Laban TNVS to regularly improve our security policies. We believe that by remaining updated with tech trends and staying connected with the people on the ground, we can continue to keep our drivers and passengers safe on the road and online, especially during high-traffic seasons.”
Improved in-app security features
Drivers and passengers can expect updated in-app security features that will boost data protection and in-ride safety options. For instance, inDrive has enhanced its data privacy policy to include stronger encryption protocols for rider and driver data, regular system audits, and a commitment to transparency in data handling.
inDrive’s Safety Centre has also been upgraded, allowing the support team to get in touch with the user’s trusted contacts during emergencies and increasing the number of trusted contacts from one to five. The app’s review and rating system has also been refined to identify drivers who need further evaluation based on how passengers rate their performance and behavior throughout the ride.
In order to remain on top of emerging tech trends, inDrive has also incorporated machine learning to improve its in-app security features. Here, machine learning can detect fraudulent documents during driver vetting, automate vehicle photo verifications, and moderate driver and passenger avatars.
To implement these in-app upgrades while maintaining its speed and reliability, inDrive plans to adopt smaller and more targeted updates. Additionally, it will incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify and immediately act on potential security threats.
Comprehensive training on data privacy, company protocols, and local laws and regulations
As part of inDrive’s partnership with Laban TNVS, the strengthened mandatory data privacy program ensures compliance and continuous education for partner drivers across the Philippines. This is an annual series of training seminars about laws and regulations on internet security and the value of compliance.
The program is part of inDrive’s strict compliance with local laws including data privacy and traffic regulations. The platform ensures that starting from the drivers’ onboarding, it consistently communicates its security policies to them through various channels. With the strengthened data privacy program in place, inDrive also plans to conduct continuous refresher sessions to create a culture where privacy and security are non-negotiable.
Laban TNVS President Jun De Leon expressed gratitude for inDrive’s initiative to partner with the group on the training program. (Laban TNVS views this as an opportunity for our drivers to upskill and provide better riding services for our passengers. It has always been part of Laban TNVS’ plans for our partner drivers, and we are grateful to roll this out with a partner like inDrive that operates with the same values as our organization).”
