Nissan Philippines drives excitement at the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit

Nissan Philippines showcased its vision for electrification at the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, featuring cutting-edge technologies like the Nissan Kicks e-POWER and the Nissan Ariya, along with innovations from Formula E.

The summit took place at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from October 24 to 26, 2024, under the theme “Spark Change, Drive Electric,” which advocated for the broader adoption of electric vehicles to create a sustainable future.

At the center of Nissan’s booth, attendees experienced the thrill of fully electric racing with the Formula E Racing Simulator. This showcases Nissan’s philosophy of bringing the technologies it uses on the track to its road-going vehicles, as well as how electrification can be exciting.

The Nissan Ariya also made its second public appearance in the Philippines, exemplifying the brand’s technological advancements. Nissan designed the Ariya on a dedicated EV platform, allowing it to embody Nissan Intelligent Mobility and reflect the design philosophy of Timeless Japanese Futurism, without the limitations of an internal combustion engine platform.

Alongside the Ariya, the Kicks e-POWER demonstrated the innovative e-POWER system. As a 100% electric motor-driven system, e-POWER provides the driving feel of a fully electric vehicle but with a gasoline engine present to generate charge for the battery. This allows one to enjoy the benefits of an electric vehicle without the need to worry about plugging it in, making for an ideal vehicle for those looking to transition into fully electric mobility.

Yasuhisa Masuda, Nissan Philippines President expressed his support for the local EV industry, stating, “This year, we are highlighting the exciting future we have ahead, thanks to electrification. At Nissan, we remain committed to delivering innovative electrified vehicles for our customers over the coming years.”
