New Porsche Taycan Turbo S boasts 952 hp, 1,110 Nm of torque

Porsche has significantly enhanced its segment-defining fully electric sports car model — the Taycan. Spearheaded by the new Taycan Turbo S, the latest models have arrived in the Philippines.

The new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models continue to set the benchmark in electromobility by boasting more power, a longer driving range, and the ability to accelerate quicker and charge their battery faster. Their distinctive designs have also been sharpened, matched by an even more extensive list of features.

A more refined and purist aesthetic hallmarks the Taycan Turbo S — distinguished by more design elements — and other Taycan models, receiving fresh styling touches at their front and rear ends. Their headlights, now flatter and edgier, feature high-resolution HD matrix technology and Porsche’s characteristic four-point graphics.

Recontoured fenders better emphasize the width of the sports cars. The Porsche logo in the rear light strip is now three-dimensional. Another notable feature is the Turbonite accent that makes the Taycan Turbo S stand out even more.

A higher level of performance backs up the new Taycan’s more dynamic design — all models accelerate much faster than the previous versions.

The Taycan Turbo S now outputs 952 hp and 1,100 Nm of torue, and so is now capable of reaching the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in a staggering 2.4 seconds. This is 0.4 seconds faster than its predecessor.

With the new push-to-pass button (included in the Sport Chrono package), full boost can be summoned for 10 seconds. The Taycan in rear-wheel drive form can sprint from rest to 100 km/h in only 4.8 seconds, an improvement of over half a second.

With more power comes a longer driving range and the capability to charge faster. The Taycan Turbo S can cover up to 630 kilometers (according to WLTP tests) on a full charge, while the Taycan rear-wheel drive can travel up to 678 kilometers on the same fully charged battery.

Charging the previous model from 10% to 80% via DC took about 37 minutes. With the new Taycan models, it takes only 18 minutes to achieve the same charge level. This is possible even with a larger battery capacity. The Performance Battery Plus now has a gross capacity of 105 kWh, increased from 93.4 kWh.

Plus, the new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models can recuperate energy more efficiently. The maximum recuperation capacity during deceleration from high speeds increased by more than 30%, or from 290 kW to up to 400 kW.

Standard on the latest Taycan models is an adaptive two-chamber air suspension offering an unprecedented spread between driving comfort and driving dynamics. The adaptive air suspension keeps the sports car level even during dynamic braking, acceleration, and cornering. Plus, it constantly absorbs impacts and smoothens road imperfections.

The latest generation of the Porsche Driver Experience is fitted to the new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models. Their instrument cluster, central display and passenger display have improved user interface and offer additional functions — for example, six views on the instrument cluster can be called on by the driver. Also new is the 3D driving assistance view that shows the surrounding area with the route, up to three lanes around the vehicle, and other road users.

A configurable display provides information related to the electric powertrain, including battery charge level and temperature, and the status of the charging process.

The central display can be configured according to preference, with widgets that can be moved around. Both Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity features are even more deeply integrated, with numerous displays and functions accessible on the models’ screen.

With all the significant changes, the new Taycan Turbo S and Taycan models are elevating full-electric mobility to a new level.
