Visiting BMW’s flagship showroom in Greenhills

You might know Ramon S. Ang or RSA as the President and now CEO of San Miguel Corporation. With the highly publicized opening of Skyway Stage 3, there’s a huge chance that you’ve come across that acronym.

But RSA also has an automotive business – the SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., which is the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines. Of significance is the opening of the latest and largest BMW dealership facility in the Philippines: the RSA Motors Greenhills.

A few weeks ago, I had a chance to visit the newest flagship showroom near the affluent villages of Mandaluyong. I was actually there to pick up a test unit for a full review but I decided to go on a quick tour to experience the four-story facility that BMW Philippines touts as “one of only two in the world that follows the unique Fit to BMW standards, offering a more personalized customer experience together with signature furniture pieces and design elements.”

Those words weren’t just marketing speak. Truth be told, I was thoroughly impressed; the showroom befits every Filipino in Metro Manila and nearby provinces who aspires to own a German luxury vehicle.

The 1,800-square meter BMW flagship showroom consists of four floors. Right before entering the first floor, I was greeted by courteous security personnel and asked to go through the usual safety protocol – that’s despite wearing only shorts and a plain shirt (my go-to getup).

The ground floor houses RSA Motors Greenhills’ main showroom. On display are Bimmers from 1 to Z: from the youthful and nimble 1 Series to the open-top fun-mobile Z4. What I really liked about the space was the fact that all the cars on display come in either black, white, or silver. No bright colors here, but a feeling of a unified lineup ready to capture your heart.

Apart from the bevy of BMWs, you’ll find the Isetta Café on the ground floor as well. Some notable elements you’ll find are the merchandise section and the BMW R 50/2 classic motorcycle on display, adding a touch of history within the cozy space. And of course, the high ceiling adorned with several narrow lighting elements increases the overall aesthetic appeal.

In millennial speak, the whole area’s Instagram-worthy, I must say.

While all BMWs are built for excitement, carrying the ultimate driving machine tagline, the second floor of the new RSA Motors Greenhills houses the epitome of those words: the M cars. If you’re a true Bimmer fan, you know what I mean. The biggest BMWs are also found on the second floor: the 7 Series and the X7, with the latter I previously experienced in a quick southern sprawl.

There’s a lounge and cafe area on this floor as well; a perfect way to hang out maybe before you drive home your newly bought M car. I was actually asked to enter an M2 Competition on display during my visit, but I declined since I couldn’t promise not to step on the brakes and start the vehicle.

I ended the visit by going to the dealership’s Car Delivery Room where the BMW 318i Sport media tester was waiting. Before I drove off the cool lounge, I thought to myself – someday, I’ll drive off this room with my name on the dotted line.

The RSA Motors Greenhills is located on Connecticut St. corner Florida St., Barangay Wack Wack, Mandaluyong City.
