Wunder Mobility exits PH by June 28

Hamburg, Germany-headquartered ride-sharing platform Wunder Mobility announced the cessation of Philippine operations on June 28.

In an email advisory, the company said that terminating its presence here is the “most appropriate course of action” in order to maximize their efforts for a “better mobility ecosystem worldwide.”

“Believe us when we say that this decision was not taken lightly. We gave it a lot of thought and came to the conclusion that, in order to maximize our efforts in accelerating our vision of a better mobility ecosystem worldwide, stopping our operations in Manila on the 28th of June would be the most appropriate course of action,” the statement read.

The company added that “cooperation with governmental bodies and organization is crucial in order to make sure that the best interests of the population are always the main priority.”

Wunder said that the carpooling platform and support channels will only be available until June 28.

The ride-sharing app said that there are no current plans to resume operations in Manila at a future date. Wunder is a tech company currently operating in more than 50 cities worldwide.
