With ACMobility leading the charge to electrified mobility, it is adding an additional 30 charging stations before the month ends. This would bring the total number of sites to 100, but no less than a total of 700 locations are planned to go online by the end of the year.
“2025 is a pivotal year for ACMobility as we intensify our commitment to advancing transformative mobility across the Philippines. We have expanded our network and have integrated cutting-edge technology to improve the overall EV charging experience. By increasing the number of fast chargers at our stations and expanding our footprint into underserved regions, we are creating a more accessible, convenient infrastructure for EV owners,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility.
As part of its “Charge Forward” campaign, the stations are designed to be located in traffic hotspots and major travel routes nationwide in order to address the major pain point of range anxiety. Eliminating the latter would hasten the adoption of electric vehicles by a greater majority of the driving population. The new stations will also be complemented with “Superfast” and “UltraFast Chargers”, which have the capability to charge up to 480kW, drastically reducing time spent charging an EV.
ACMobhility is also expanding outside of urban locations to include rural areas and interregional linked like the northern loop from La Union to Ilocos Norte to Tuguegarao. In Panay, the plan includes Antique, Iloilo, Roxas City, and Aklan. The Mindanao EV network includes the cities of Iligan, Butuan, Valencia, Digos, and Tagum, adding to the stations already in Davao and Cagayan de Oro.
Aside from ease of finding the nearest charging station, ACMobility recently introduced a membership program with fixed monthly fees, allowing members to get the best rates on their charging experience. The program will also be extended nationwide as new stations come online. The service currently offers DC charging for as low as P28/kW compared to the standard P35/kW, and AC charging at P22.8/kW versus the standard P28.5/kW in the National Capital Region. Provincial rates may vary.
