VinFast appears to be quietly preparing one of its biggest moves in the Philippine market.
According to industry insiders, the Vietnamese electric vehicle maker is lining up the launch of its first-ever multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in the country—an all-electric, seven-seater model referred to as the Limo Green—with Manila expected to be its first stop as early as March.
While VinFast Philippines has yet to confirm details publicly, the timing suggests the model could anchor the brand’s 2026 lineup and mark a strategic expansion beyond compact SUVs and crossovers into the highly competitive multi-purpose vehicle segment.
A fleet-first electric MPV
Unlike traditional MPV launches that are typically positioned around family use, the Limo Green is understood to be designed primarily with business and fleet operations in mind.
The model is expected to target corporate and business fleets, including ride-hailing and airport shuttle operators, corporate mobility programs, employee shuttle providers, hotel and tourism transport groups, and even government fleets aiming to modernize their transport systems.
This focus reflects a growing shift among Philippine companies toward lowering operating costs and meeting sustainability targets as part of broader environmental, social, and governance commitments.
Bigger than it looks
On paper, the Limo Green sits firmly in the midsize MPV category.
It reportedly measures roughly 4.7 meters long, nearly 2.12 meters wide, and rides on a 2.84-meter wheelbase, giving it proportions comparable to established nameplates.
The cabin layout is believed to be configured for three rows and seven passengers, with flexible seating and a cargo area that can expand significantly when the second and third rows are folded, making it suitable for both people-moving and light logistics duties.
Styling follows VinFast’s current design language, featuring slim LED daytime running lights up front, headlamps mounted lower on the bumper, and a clean, tech-forward fascia that leans closer to modern crossovers than boxy utility vans.
Fully electric, long-range capable
The biggest differentiator, however, is what powers it.
The Limo Green is expected to be a full battery-electric vehicle, running on a 150 kWh-class battery pack paired with a single front-mounted electric motor producing around 201 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque.
Estimated driving range is up to 450 kilometers on a full charge, with fast-charging capability allowing a 10 to 70 percent top-up in under 30 minutes using DC chargers.
For fleet operators, this translates to predictable daily usage cycles, lower energy costs, and fewer mechanical wear components compared to diesel-powered MPVs.
Connected by default
The vehicle is also expected to lean heavily into software and connectivity.
A large central touchscreen will serve as the hub for vehicle controls and infotainment, with built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth support, USB-A and USB-C ports, and system-level vehicle settings integrated into the interface.
People familiar with the platform describe it as “smartphone-like,” enabling remote updates and feature improvements through iOS- and Android-linked systems—an approach that could appeal to operators managing multiple vehicles at scale.
Designed to cut operating costs
Internally, the Limo Green is positioned as a tool to significantly reduce total cost of ownership.
Electric running costs are projected to be far lower than comparable gasoline or diesel MPVs, alongside reduced maintenance requirements due to the absence of oil changes, belts, and other traditional engine components.
VinFast is also expected to explore flexible ownership structures for fleet buyers, including battery-related programs that could help lower upfront costs and reduce long-term risk—an arrangement that may appeal to large transport operators and corporate buyers.
Why this matters for the local market
If the Manila launch proceeds as expected, the Limo Green would become one of the first fully electric MPVs positioned specifically for large-scale commercial use in the Philippines. It would also place VinFast in direct competition with long-entrenched models, while simultaneously challenging newer electric rivals entering the people-mover space.
For VinFast, the move signals a deeper commitment to the Philippine market not just as a retail EV brand, but as a long-term mobility partner for businesses navigating rising fuel costs, stricter sustainability goals, and growing demand for modern, connected transport solutions.
Industry chatter suggests the VF Limo Green is set to launch within the month, with initial units expected to be showcased to enterprise clients in Manila ahead of a broader public rollout. If confirmed, it could mark the beginning of a new phase in the country’s electric vehicle adoption, one that is driven not by niche early adopters, but by the daily movement of workers, travelers, and city commuters.
