New on-demand delivery platform ‘Amigo’ launches in February

Amigo, the newest on-demand delivery platform in the local market, will begin operations this February.

Founded by Project Move, Inc. in 2020, Amigo aims to connect customers to riders of motorcycles, cars, and even bikes for all their delivery needs through its “seamlessly convenient application and fairly-priced service.”

“Amigo was inspired by the hard work that countless Filipinos put in everyday, and it was established so that we can do our part and extend a helping hand to all of our stakeholders. Amigo is more than just a business for us — we want it to be a reliable partner who goes the extra mile for Filipinos,”  said Matthew Siy Cha, Founder and President of Amigo.

Project Move Inc. started planning the business model of Amigo in December 2019. They spent the entirety of 2020 developing, testing, and refining the platform while ensuring internal operations are efficient and scalable for business sustainability.

“We are lucky to have the support of the Siy Cha Group of Companies and their well-experienced management team, who have been in the motorcycle retail business for more than 30 years now. Leveraging on our industry expertise, we saw launching Amigo as a way to serve our fellow Filipinos and create a lasting positive impact on society by introducing a reliable delivery service for consumers, riders, and merchants,” shared Kimberly Siy, Founder and Managing Director of Amigo.

Amigo’s services via motorcycles include delivery of parcels and packages with insulated boxes, cash handling, queuing service and pasabuy or purchase service.

Some of Amigo’s features include an option for customers to have scheduled deliveries. They can also pay a priority fee if no rider accepts their booking. Aside from that, Amigo also allows customers to have up to 20 drop-off locations for one booking.

To ensure the safety of the customer’s delivery, Amigo has a security code in place, which requires riders to encode a one-time password at each pick-up and drop-off locations for added security.

The platform also ensures that customers’ information and personal details are kept safely and cannot be accessed by riders upon completion of a delivery. A number masking feature, which hides contact numbers from app users, will also be made available in the coming months.

Amigo’s payment methods include cash, credit/debit card, and e-wallets such as PayMaya.

“Delivery isn’t a one-way street, and through Amigo, we want to create a harmonious delivery experience for everyone involved. Whether they’re busy customers looking for convenience, hard-working businesses looking for a reliable logistics partner, or partner riders looking for new opportunities, Amigo is here to take Filipinos further as they journey through 2021 and beyond,” Siy Cha said.

The Amigo app will  be available for download come second week of February 2021. Those who will use the app can use the promo code BAGONGAMIGO to get P50 off their first booking. This promo is valid until the end of February 2021, and is applicable to deliveries made within Metro Manila.
