President Rodrigo Duterte sustained minor injuries after taking a spill aboard his motorcycle on Wednesday evening.
In a report by The STAR, Duterte, who is shown in the accompanying video not wearing a helmet, fell off the big bike he was riding while he was on his way out of the Presidential Security Group Compound at the Malacañang grounds.
The President is now recuperating at the Bahay Pagbabago, according to Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go.
Duterte suffered bruises on his left leg and arm which attending physicians are treating while the President takes time off from his activities today, sources said.
The Chief Executive has been known to enjoy going on bike rides even when he was still mayor of Davao City for 23 years. The President was also once apprehended by traffic officials in Davao City for violating traffic rules aboard big bike.
