The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)-Philippine Arena Interchange in Bocaue, Bulacan is now open to motorists.
NLEX Corp. president and general manager Luigi Bautista said that the interchange, which is seen to ease traffic congestion in the area, is part of the company’s “continuing commitment to enhance (its) services for the public and help ease traffic flow in and out of (its) expressways.”
The newly opened interchange can serve as an alternative route for the congested Gov. Fortunano Halili Avenue in Bocaue. It is expected that motorists coming to and from Bocaue, Sta. Maria, Pandi, Angat, and Norzagaray would benefit from the new toll plaza.
Aside from that, the interchange is also expected to improve the accessibility of the Philippine Arena that is often used for major events and entertainment activities. The opening of upcoming 30th Southeast Asian Games will be held at the Philippine Arena on Nov 30.
The eight-lane toll plaza has five exit lanes and three entry lanes. A P6 toll will be collected from class 1 vehicles, P17 for class 2 and P19 for class 3 vehicles.
Meanwhile, construction is ongoing for an access road at the southbound lane of NLEX from Philippine Arena. – Ramon Efren Lazaro
