The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that a zipper lane will be opened along the eastbound lane of White Plains Avenue in Quezon City in order to accommodate vehicles going to EDSA during the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
The MMDA said that the zipper lane or counterflow scheme will be opened in front of Camp Aguinaldo Gate 5. Plastic barriers and traffic cones will be installed along White Plains as well as on the sidewalk in front of the People Power Monument.
A short program will be held at the People Power Monument at 8 a.m., according to MMDA. However, the agency said that there will be no road closure during the event.
The MMDA said that traffic marshals will be deployed as early as 4 a.m. to manage traffic flow along White Plains and other areas of concern. Road clearing operations will also be conducted to remove illegally-parked vehicles, according to MMDA.
