The Ford Bronco is coming soon to PH

The original SUV of Ford will make its way to the Philippines soon. This is after Ford Philippines has confirmed that the 6th generation Ford Bronco will arrive this year. The reservation books will open soon but only through their online portal at ford.com.ph.

There are no details yet regarding variants, features, and pricing but they said they will share more details closer to the launch date. That doesn’t stop us from looking into the Bronco though.

It’s the first SUV from Ford that was originally launched in 1966. It was aimed to be the rival of the classic Jeep, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Chevrolet Suburban. Instead of growing into a family vehicle, the Bronco kept its 2-door form and huge cargo space for utilization, making it vulnerable in the changing market. It wasn’t long until sales went down and it was discontinued in 1996, replaced by the 4-door Expedition.

Now in its 6th generation, the Ford Bronco is available in several configurations. The main Bronco is a body-on-frame small SUV in 2 or 4-door configurations but there’s also a unibody compact crossover version that’s exclusively 4-door.

Engine options for the Bronco Sport are a 1.5L EcoBoost Inline-3 turbo or a 2.0L EcoBoost Inline-4 turbo. Meanwhile, the Bronco SUV has a 2.3L EcoBoost turbo, a 2.7L V6 or a 3.0L V6.

There are a number of special edition Broncos in the US but if it meets success here in the Philippines, there’s little doubt that Ford Philippines will consider bringing in the Bronco Raptor.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. We only got the confirmation for the car. This will be an agonizing wait. Let’s cross our fingers and hope that we can see it in MIAS in April.
