GAC Motor Philippines has made a significant mark in the local automotive scene with the official launch of the all-new GAC M6 Pro, a seven-seater MPV packed with amenities and features that elevate it beyond conventional people carriers. The much-anticipated model was previously previewed in December 2023 and stands as one of the six new models introduced by the brand this year.
The GAC M6 Pro presents a sleek exterior design, characterized by its aerodynamic “wind wing” form, setting it apart from other MPVs in the market. Adorned with sharp LED clusters featuring matrix LED headlamps, automatic height adjustment, high beam assist, and a follow-me-home function, the front fascia exudes a bold and dynamic presence. A striking grille with horizontal slats, accented by a curved silver trim, adds to its allure, while the rear boasts LED beads spanning the width of the MPV, contributing to its modern appeal.
Notable exterior features include rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, privacy glass for the second row and rear windows, power-folding side mirrors, and rear fog lamps.
The M6 Pro measures 4,793mm in length, 1,837mm in width, and 1,730mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,810mm and a curb weight of up to 1,660 kg.
Stepping inside, occupants are greeted with a well-appointed cockpit boasting numerous creature comforts, including power-adjustable seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-to-start button, and cruise control. The dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear vents ensures a comfortable ride, complemented by a PM 1.0 air filter and air quality sensors.
The top-spec model features PVC leather upholstery, 4-way adjustable captain seats in the second row, and a 60:40 split-folding bench seat in the third row, accommodating a 2+2+3 seating configuration with ample cargo space of up to 1,100 liters when all seats are folded down.
Technological advancements abound in the GAC M6 Pro, with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen offering Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity, accompanied by an eight-piece speaker system (GL variant). A seven-inch LCD instrument cluster display caters to the driver’s convenience.
Safety is paramount in the M6 Pro, with the top-spec GL variant equipped with advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and forward collision warning.
Standard safety features include dual front airbags, side airbags, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, engine immobilizer, tire pressure monitoring, and stability control.
Under the hood, the 2024 GAC M6 Pro houses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission, delivering 174 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque to the front wheels. A MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension ensure a smooth and comfortable ride.
Pricing for the 2024 GAC M6 Pro starts at Php 1,230,000 for the entry-level GS variant and Php 1,598,000 for the top-spec GL variant. Each purchase is accompanied by a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first, further enhancing the value proposition of this Chinese premium MPV.
