Subaru showcases the greatest Outback of all time  at MIAS 2024

Subaru’s exclusive local distributor, Motor Image Pilipinas Inc., unveiled at the ongoing Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2024 the highly anticipated Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight.

The new car’s 2.4-liter turbo engine not only delivers more horsepower but also boosts the Outback’s towing capacity to new heights. The Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight can now tow up to 2400 kg, a significant increase from the current 2.5-liter naturally aspirated Outback’s 2,000 kg limit.

This marks the highest towing capacity ever for an Outback model. The unbraked towing capacity remains at 750 kg across the range.

The Outback Touring 2.4 XT features a revised Subaru Lineartronic Transmission (SLT) with optimized gear/differential ratios to suit the increased power delivery and towing performance. The more powerful 2.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder boxer engine boasts 250ps of power and 350Nm of torque.

Acknowledged as the most technologically advanced Outback yet, the latest Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight comes with Nappa leather seats, electric sunroof, heated steering wheel, Harman Kardon audio, and a rear power tailgate with hands-free badge sensor. The new fog light design complements the front grille, giving this Outback its aggressive flair, while the dual tail pipes show off the Outback Turbo’s sportier side.

Similar to the 2.5-liter variant, this Outback Turbo’s smartly appointed cabin includes an 11.6-inch tablet-like touchscreen featuring wireless smartphone mirroring with satellite navigation, as well as a Driver Monitoring System (DMS) with facial recognition to detect driver drowsiness or distraction. The system can also personalize the driver’s seat, wing mirror, and air conditioning preferences.

Both are equipped with EyeSight 4.0 driver assist technology as standard, which features Lane Departure Warning with vibrating steering wheel alert, Adaptive Cruise Control with full-speed range functionality, and Autonomous Emergency Steering, guiding the driver away from potential hazards while assessing the presence of other vehicles using cameras and sensors.

These two ruggedly stylish Outbacks enable drivers to take their adventures to the next level with their near-SUV-like 213 mm of ground clearance, Active Torque Split, and Dual Mode X-MODE for enhanced off-road capabilities. This combination of performance-driven features makes the car even more fun to drive off-road, perfect for those occasional adventure trails when given the right opportunity.

The Subaru Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight has a retail price of ₱2,880,000.

Aside from the Outback 2.4 XT Touring Eyesight, Subaru also unveiled at MIAS 2024 the new Crosstrek GT Edition, the WRX GT Edition, the BRZ STI, and the Forester GT Wild Edition.
