Ang Probinsyano’s famous lead actor, Coco Martin, is now the official brand ambassador of Chery Auto Philippines. The grand reveal was conducted during an online event held last Monday, broadcast via Facebook Live on their page, Chery Auto Philippines.
The face of the charming Filipino star will now be appearing on their print ads, TV commercials and billboards. Moreover, Coco Martin also revealed during the virtual event that he now owns a Chery Tiggo 8, which he is extremely happy with, especially for being very comfortable and exceptionally thrifty on fuel. He further described his new car as ‘ma-porma‘ (stylish) and ‘very practical for Filipinos’.
When asked to name his favorite feature of the Tiggo 8, Coco immediately pointed to the Chery Smartwatch Key. “Kaya ng watch ko i-start yung car, unlock the doors, open the windows, and turn on the aircon! Kaya pag sakay ko, malamig na yung interior! It even monitors my health and pairs with my smartphone, kaya pati notifications ng phone ko, natatanggap ko sa watch ko,” he exclaimed. “Isa ko pang favorite is the Tiggo 8’s comfort and the space. Perfect ito for long rides where I can rest and relax in the leather seats. Ang laki pa ng sunroof, kaya luxurious talaga!” he added.
Chery may be a relatively new player in the Philippine automotive scene, but it has long reigned as China’s number one exporter of passenger cars for the last 16 years. In the Philippines, it is officially distributed by UUAGI (United Asia Auto Group, Inc.).
Chery carries an all-crossover product lineup in the Philippines. Their available vehicles are the subcompact Tiggo 2, compact Tiggo 5X and Tiggo 7, and midsize 7-seater Tiggo 8. All of these models are powered by one and the same engine – a modern, 1.5-liter inline-4 DOHC 16-valve petrol engine, but turbocharged for the Tiggo 7 and flagship Tiggo 8. This engine is already Euro-5 compliant and is mated either to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Furthermore, Chery Philippines currently offers one of the most enticing new-car-ownership deals out there – a mind-blowing 10-year (or 1-million km, whichever comes first) powertrain warranty to its prospective customers, applicable to all its vehicles! This is on top of the 5-year ‘bumper-to-bumper’ general vehicle warranty that the company already offers, for all of its crossovers. And to seal the deal, is Chery’s free 3-year Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) package to all buyers of any of their Tiggo models. That pretty much gives the necessary assurances that the local distributor truly believes in the competitiveness of Chery products – such that they are willing to go this far to vouch for it.
Despite only launching in the Philippines late last year, Chery Auto already has a strong network of 14 dealerships across the country. Chery showrooms can now be found in: La Union, Marilao, Quezon Avenue, North Edsa, Pasig, Cainta, Pasong Tamo, Alabang, Bacoor, GMA-Cavite, Iloilo Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao. And by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2020, two more dealerships are slated to open in Bacolod and General Santos.
