Chevrolet launches all-new Tracker

Have you heard about Chevrolet Philippines’ latest product offering? It’s the 2021 Chevrolet Tracker—a subcompact crossover/SUV with a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine. Although it’s the first time we’re getting it distributed here in the country, the model has already made quite a reputation for itself globally; it’s been the bestselling utility vehicle in major Latin American markets such as Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina. It has also been selling exceptionally well in China—which has now become one of Chevrolet’s biggest international markets.

“The Tracker will appeal to Filipino customers who want more from their crossover SUV,” pointed out Atty. Albert Arcilla, president and CEO of The Covenant Car Company (TCCCI), the official importer and distributor of Chevrolet vehicles and parts in the country. He furthered that, “Available in two feature-packed variants, the Tracker offers fuel efficiency, safety, comfort, convenience and connectivity, packaged in a practical and capable SUV.”

All-black leather-lined cockpit with red stitching and leather steering wheel with audio controls

The Tracker is available as either the base Tracker LS or the higher-end Tracker LT Redline Edition. The Tracker LS exudes a more playful, sporty lifestyle look while the LT Redline Edition looks more athletic, especially with its strong black and red accents found throughout the vehicle. The latter is decorated with an all-black dual cockpit matched with jet-black seats accentuated with racy, red double stitching. Additional bells and whistles to the Redline Edition are a beautiful, panoramic sunroof and 17-inch black alloy rims. Both models feature sports-style driver and passenger seats.

The Tracker leverages on Chevrolet’s sporty DNA and the brand’s history in offering the world’s very first SUV, the 1935 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall. “The Tracker, with its attractive design and state-of-the-art technical features, is living proof of our 85 years of crossover and SUV expertise,” shared the president and Managing Director of GM Strategic Markets Alliances and Distributors, Christian Soemmer.

As the Tracker also celebrates Chevrolet’s sporty DNA, you can find such elements subtly reflected in its appointments, such as the nice, flat-bottom, leather wrapped steering wheel with audio control buttons. A floating eight-inch touchscreen runs on Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system, which offers Bluetooth connectivity, four USB ports and 1 SD card reader slot.

The rear car seats are foldable and split 60/40 and the cabin can accommodate multiple seating configurations to offer greater versatility.

The Tracker comes with an intelligent Engine Start/Stop system to help save fuel. It is also equipped with a range of active and passive safety technology, which include Enhanced Understeer Control, Hill-Start Assist, Panic Brake Assist, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, an express-up window with anti-pinch function, and a reverse camera with a wide 130-degree viewing angle, amongst other things.

Meanwhile, Atty. Arcilla also emphasized how important of a product the Tracker is, to Chevrolet Phlippines. He shared that the company had already planned to execute a transition in their portfolio even before the pandemic struck, and the introduction of the Tracker is where this significantly begins. Atty. Arcilla also revealed that the popular crossover units are imported directly from Chevrolet’s global plant in China, which will positively affect the vehicles’ sale price. And we can already expect the units to be available in Chevrolet’s local dealerships within the next two weeks.

As a matter of fact, the Tracker has already been preselling for a while now; and currently on offer is a special introductory discount of P30,000—regardless of the mode of purchase—for both variants of the Tracker, until September 30.

The base Tracker LS is priced at P1,142,888 while the sportier LT Redline Edition is priced at P1,242,888. They are available in five colors: Agate Red Metallic, Satin Steel Gray Metallic, Black Meet Kettle Metallic, Summit White, and Pow Zinga Metallic—with the latter being a color exclusive to the LS variant.

All brand new Chevy vehicle purchases come bundled with Chevrolet’s Complete Care package, which includes: a five-year warranty, free enrollment to the 24/7 Chevrolet Roadside Assistance program for three years, and access to the 24/7 Chevy Hotline for all service needs.
