New Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid turns even more special in Mulliner, Odyssean versions

Bentley Motors continues its journey toward electrification with the recent introduction of the new Flying Spur Hybrid. Equipped with a highly innovative third powertrain, the latest model establishes a family of Bentley hybrids, emphasizing the celebrated carmaker’s commitment to become an end-to-end carbon-neutral organization and the world’s leading sustainable luxury mobility company.

The powertrain of the new Flying Spur Hybrid, which combines a 2.9-liter V6 gasoline engine with an advanced electric motor, delivers a total of 536 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. This makes the new model the most efficient Bentley ever, having the capability to cover over 700 kilometers when fully fueled.

Found in the cabin of the new Flying Spur Hybrid is a control for the car’s three E Modes —  EV Drive, Hybrid Mode and Hold Mode, which enable the driver to manage the battery usage during a journey. The flow of energy can be displayed via the infotainment screen, and additional e-motion information like range, battery level and charging status are available on the instrument panel, heads-up display and center screen.

Mulliner curated special cabin appointments for the Flying Spur Mulliner, including unique embroidery for the hand-stitched seats.

Bentley widens the individualization options of the new Flying Spur Hybrid by offering the highly efficient model in the even more highly luxurious Mulliner spec, as well as in the form of the Odyssean Edition (the Mulliner version is also available to the V8 and V12 Flying Spur).

The Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition introduces new sustainable materials, like wool tweed and special wood veneers, to the Bentley range

Taking its place as the flagship of the model range, the new Flying Spur Mulliner is the most luxurious Flying Spur to date, having been designed, engineered and handcrafted by Bentley Mulliner. Some of the model’s beautifully appointed detailing touches include exclusive Mulliner 22-inch wheels with self-leveling wheel caps (these remain upright even as the wheels rotate); a “Double Diamond” front grille and chrome lower grille matched with bespoke Mulliner wing vents and Satin Silver painted mirror caps; jewel fuel and oil caps; and Mulliner illuminated outer treadplates and deep-pile Mulliner mats that welcome passengers inside the cabin.

Three E Modes, — EV Drive, Hybrid Mode and Hold Mode — of the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid allow for efficient management of battery usage during a journey.

Mulliner curated eight custom-made, three-color combinations for the sumptuously trimmed cabin, all of which complemented by accent color piping and unique Mulliner embroidery to the hand-stitched seats. Fitted as standard is the Mulliner Driving Specification that brings “Diamond-in-Diamond” quilting to the seats, and three-dimensional leather to the doors. Serving as the centerpiece on the dashboard, set alongside the chrome bullseye vents, is the brushed-silver Mulliner clock.

Meanwhile, taking inspiration from Bentley’s EXP 100 GT concept car is the Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition, which introduced new sustainable materials to the Bentley range. Among the features in the car’s cabin are panels of beautifully crafted tweed made from 100% British wool, twisting a blend of tonal colors into a bespoke yarn to create a unique natural luxury textile. Plus, with a focus on sustainability, the open pore Koa veneer fascias and waistrails use 90% less lacquer than high-gloss veneers, and allow the natural surface texture and aesthetic of the wood to be enjoyed.

On the Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition’s center console is a minimalist Piano Linen veneer, while a dedicated three-color leather scheme lends the whole interior new depth. Accents available include a warm hide called Autumn, which can be specified to use Beluga, Porpoise, Cricketball, Brunel or Burnt Oak leather in tandem with light Linen hide. A unique Odyssean Edition treadplate becomes apparent when entering or exiting the car, and is matched with exterior D-pillar badging.

The Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition’s exterior finishes come in a selection of six curated colors, all of which Bentley recommends as best to match with the Pale Brodgar accents on the 21-inch twin-spoke wheels and lower bright ware (front and rear bumpers, headlight and tail light surrounds and lower body side chrome).

With the Flying Spur Hybrid, Bentley demonstrates that hybridization does not compromise luxury or performance as the car’s unperceivable blend of internal combustion engine and electric motor guarantees refined serenity and utter luxury regardless of driving mode or style.
