New Porsche 911 GT3 officially debuts in PH

The new, 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 is now officially available in Porsche Philippines — the sole authorized representative of Porsche AG in the country. This means the latest version of the high-performance sports car, developed in close collaboration with Porsche Motorsport, is assured of key ownership advantages which only an official dealership can offer to discerning customers.

Because the new Porsche 911 GT3 incorporates more racing technologies than any of its predecessors, this racecar for the road benefits from the specialized expertise and equipment which Porsche Philippines acquires from Porsche AG. Only Gold-level technicians trained at the Porsche headquarters in Germany, using OEM tools, factory-supplied equipment and certified genuine parts, can guarantee the new Porsche 911 GT3 will always deliver 100% performance.

Supporting factory-certified expertise and equipment is Porsche Philippines’ ready access to the latest software updates issued by Porsche AG — manufacturers supply software updates exclusively to official dealerships. Software updates for the new Porsche 911 GT3 are crucial, given the model’s sophisticated technologies and computerized management systems for its powertrain, convenience and infotainment functions, as well as safety features. Porsche Philippines further safeguards the new Porsche 911 GT3 by dutifully performing all required modifications specified in service bulletins sent by Porsche AG to its official dealership network worldwide. These service bulletins address or prevent unexpected issues, if not simply improve particular components in vehicles.

The new Porsche 911 GT3’s racing genes are expressed in practically all its details, including the features in its cockpit.

As an official dealership, Porsche Philippines also fully backs the new Porsche 911 GT3 with warranties extended by Porsche AG, protecting the high-performance sports car in case components need to be updated. And, as with all vehicles which Porsche Philippines sells, the new Porsche 911 GT3 comes with complete and authentic documents, with the car’s legitimacy comprehensively certified and backed by proof that the correct amount of duties and taxes due to it have been completely paid for.

All these advantages mean the new Porsche 911 GT3 receives all the attention a high-performance sports car with motorsport-derived technologies requires. Chief among the model’s new technologies are its double wishbone front suspension, sophisticated aerodynamic solutions that include vents on the hood, a swan-neck rear wing and diffuser elements, and components taken straight from the Le Mans-winning Porsche 911 RSR race car.

Benefitting from more than 160 hours of fine-tuning in the wind tunnel, the new Porsche 911 GT3 generates 50% more downforce at 200 km/h than its predecessor. Both its rear wing and front diffuser adjust to four positions, increasing downforce and keeping the car well balanced even during high-speed cornering.

Sophisticated aerodynamics is a major factor in the new Porsche 911 GT3’s capabilities — the sports car benefits from more than 160 hours of fine-tuning in the wind tunnel.

Powering the new Porsche 911 GT3 is a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine that makes 510 hp at 8,400 rpm. It is based on the racing engine in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, and is used practically unmodified in the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.  When paired with the standard PDK transmission (a six-speed manual transmission is also available), the engine can propel the latest Porsche 911 GT3 from rest to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and to a top speed of 318 km/h.

Despite a wider body, larger wheels and additional technical features, the new Porsche 911 GT3 weighs about the same as its predecessor. Credit here goes to more racecar-derived components like a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic hood, special glass windows, optimized brake rotors and forged alloy wheels. The lightweight sport exhaust system saves 10 kilograms. All of these result in the car weighing in at only 1,435 kilograms. More lightweight components, such as the exposed carbon fiber roof, are also available.

The new Porsche 911 GT3’s racing genes are expressed in practically all its details. Its cockpit features a track screen — at the touch of a button, the screen displays the central rev counter and track-focused information like tire pressure, oil pressure and temperature, water temperature, a visual shift assistant to the left and right of the rev counter, and a shift light.

Packed with all these technical highlights, the new Porsche 911 GT3 needs the expertise and capabilities which only an official authorized representative like Porsche Philippines can provide.
