Get ready for a new lion in town

PEUGEOT Philippines has welcomed the New Year with a full revamp – not only with its range of cars, but also with a new distributor. The company is off to a fresh start under the distributorship of Astara, and with it comes a pair of sparkling new SUVs to kick off the range – the New PEUGEOT 5008 SUV and the New PEUGEOT 3008 SUV.

Just like its bigger brother the 7-seater 5008, the 5-seater 3008 offers a premium European vehicle experience to discerning Filipino buyers. I had the chance to test the previous 3008 a few years ago and in my opinion, it’s one of the best 5-seater SUVs money can buy.

That said, what can we expect to see in the new 3008 SUV? There are no less than 15 upgrades and changes in the new model. Here’s a rundown.

Modern Look

The primary highlight of the new 3008 is its redesigned front fascia. Featuring a frameless grille, the styling up front looks complex and intricate – a design execution that draws you to the car even at first glance.

The face is styled to look more modern, highlighted by new glossy black side scoops, a fairing bumper with a metal finish, and a full LED light assembly. These bright lights are further accented by the very emphatic “illuminated fangs” daytime running lights with chrome tips. This light signature is perfectly in line with the current PEUGEOT style and is identifiable at first glance.

Fresh Aesthetics

Apart from its redesigned face, the new 3008 SUV completes its host of updates on its exterior design. Its full LED taillights get a new design, featuring 3D claws and scrolling turn indicators that scream a premium appeal. The lights are covered with a clear, smoked glass, extending the black boot lid on each side of the vehicle, which helps to visually widen the rear of the vehicle.

The new PEUGEOT 3008 gets redesigned roof rails as well, along with a new power tailgate with foot control for convenience. The set of 18-inch Los Angeles diamond alloy wheels looks robust and dynamic, complementing the SUV’s overall look.

Refreshed PEUGEOT i-Cockpit in a Premium Cabin

The new 3008 features the latest version of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit, which has been ergonomically redesigned to give the driver better command of the vehicle.

The driver-centric layout features a compact steering wheel that offers more agile maneuverability and heightened response.  This is complemented by a 12.3-inch digital head-up cluster display and a 10-inch HD infotainment touchscreen with smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and navigation system.

Highlighted by various top-notch materials found all over the interior, including the upgraded leather seats with new stitching patterns, a panoramic sunroof, USB charging ports, and a wireless mobile phone charging pad, the new 3008 promises an upmarket cabin experience to go with its ample interior space.

Power When You Need it

Inside the bonnet of the new 3008 SUV is the latest generation 1.6-liter Twin Scroll Turbo High Pressure (THP) engine of PEUGEOT. It delivers 165hp and 240Nm of torque, boasting low fuel consumption and clean emissions. These numbers are sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. The new 3008 also features an Advanced Grip Control system that allows optimum traction for various driving conditions.

Advanced Safety & Security Systems

The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV comes standard with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to make sure that every drive is safe as it is enjoyable. These features include Active Blind Spot Monitoring, which monitors hidden spots on the sides while cruising on the highway. Along with the Active Lane Keeping Assist and Advanced Driver Attention Warning features, long drives are both convenient and safe with the new 3008 SUV.

Completing the list is the 3008’s anti-theft alarm and rear/front parking sensors for easy maneuvering and hassle-free parking.

Pricing & Availability

The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV is now available with a price tag of P2,090,000. It can be had in four color options, namely Pearl White, Amazonite Grey, Nera Black, and Metallic Copper.

Customers may now view and test drive the new 3008 alongside its bigger brother, the 5008, at all PEUGEOT dealerships nationwide. Both the new 5008 and new 3008 are also on display at the Corte de las Palmas, Alabang Town Center, from February 11 to 28, 2022.
