Porsche donates €1 million to Ukraine conflict efforts

Porsche has earmarked a total of €1 million to organizations assisting in alleviating the plight of people who are affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

The carmaker donated €750,000 to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a longstanding partner of the Volkswagen Group, and which has been active in Ukraine since 2014. The amount is meant to deliver practical support on the ground.

An additional €250,000 was turned over by Porsche to the Ferry Porsche Foundation, which focuses on supporting the youth. The group will use the donation to assist SOS Children’s Villages, among others.

“We are deeply saddened by the events in Ukraine,” said Porsche CEO Oliver Blume. “Many people are in need of urgent aid through no fault of their own. We are therefore making a contribution and supporting organizations that help the population on the ground.”

In late 2021, Porsche also gave €500,000 to the German Red Cross. The donation was used to help in rehabilitating areas in Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria which were affected by floods.
