Changan Motor Philippines launched last week the 2022 CS35 Plus. The subcompact crossover fights back in the ultra-competitive segment with a huge upgrade in terms of aesthetics, convenience features, and advanced safety functionalities.
Like its large sibling, the CS75 Plus, the 2022 CS35 Plus now gets Changan’s signature split LED headlights with LED DRLs and front position lamps. The new grille features an obsidian rock formation pattern, while red accents wrap around the bumpers, sides, and rear. At the back, new full-width LED taillights, shark-fin antenna, and dual exhaust pipes give a sportier presence. Available 18-inch alloy wheels amp up the side profile.
Inside, the new CS35 Plus has a flat-bottom steering wheel with multi-function controls, an automatic climate control with a high-efficiency filter, and available rear air vents. At the center is a 10-inch touch display infotainment system with wireless charging, Bluetooth connectivity and video playback capability. For passengers, dual-tone leather seats offer firm, body-supporting foam. In terms of luggage space, it has 403 liters of space, going up to 950 liters with the rear seats folded down.
In terms of convenience features, the CS35 Plus has Engine Remote Start which can start the engine and air conditioning even before occupants enter the cabin, a panoramic sunroof, and even a power tailgate.
Powering the CS35 Plus is a 1.4-liter turbocharged direct-injection engine with 160hp and 260Nm of torque. The sole transmission is a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic. Further elevating its driving performance, the Electric Power Steering system offers three driver adjustable modes — Sport, Standard, and Comfortable. In terms of riding comfort, it boasts of Changan’s “Deep Sea Silence Technology” which applies 50 noise dampeners in 20 strategic areas alongside a thickened glass for the windshield and side windows.
The biggest news for the 2022 CS35 Plus is the Safe-tech System — a comprehensive safety and protection system that consists of Adaptive Cruise Control, and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Front Collision Warning. It also has 6 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, and a 360-degree camera with a built-in drive recorder (Hype and Luxe).
The new CS35 Plus comes in three variants: Lite (P 898,000), Hype (P 969,000), and Luxe (P 999,000). It comes in three colors: Wunderlust White, Timberwolf Gray, and Draco Red with the Luxe being made available exclusively with black roof.
