Porsche has topped the Best Luxury Car Brands 2023 ranking conducted by an influential news organization that is also a leading authority in publishing consumer advice. Porsche won the title through the high consumer satisfaction ratings received by its entire model range.
In its latest ranking of auto brands, U.S. News & World Report said Porsche is best known for its luxury sports cars, like the highly ranked Cayman, Boxster and 911 models that owe their success in the market to “precision handling, heart-racing acceleration and excellent build quality,” as well as their capacity to be personalized.
U.S. News added Porsche’s SUV and sedan models complement the sports cars as “good options,” able to “lead their class in driver engagement while still offering seating for up to five.” The models’ ability to deliver incredible performance and haul an impressive amount of cargo boost their appeal to consumers, according to the publication.
Porsche’s SUV lineup is composed of the Macan, which combines practical features with a thrilling driving experience, and the larger Cayenne, cited for its exceptional build quality, premium cabin and luxurious ride. Both models, along with the Porsche Panamera full-size sedan, are rated highly in U.S. News’ evaluations.
But taking the brand to new heights in customer satisfaction studies is the 100% electric Porsche Taycan. The model, which builds on the Porsche sports car DNA in terms of dynamics, quality and benchmark-setting power, continues to attract both Porsche purists and new customers to the brand.
Boosting the Porsche Taycan’s popularity are the derivatives of the model now available in select markets worldwide. From the 100% electric model’s first customer deliveries in late 2019, the Porsche Taycan now comes in three versions — Taycan four-door coupe, Taycan Cross Turismo and Taycan Sport Turismo — and five powertrain options that can be coupled to rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The Porsche Taycan’s market performance helps drive the brand’s overall U.S. News’ ranking. The publication determines award winners by averaging the overall score of a particular car brand’s models in each award class. The brand that comes out with the highest overall average score is named the winner. The overall scores come directly from the U.S. News Best Cars rankings, which are based on a combination of the consensus opinion of the automotive press, safety scores and reliability data.
