Gulf has a rich storied history in motorsport known worldwide and now Gulf Oil Philippines, Inc. (GOPI) has signified their intent to support the local motorsports community. Gulf is the official partner of the Williams Racing team for the 2023 Formula 1 season and beyond.
To give their agenda the green light, they organized the Gulf Trackday so that customers, friends, and clientele can enjoy their high-performance lubricants on a racetrack. The 1-day event allowed all types of drivers, be it novices or professionals, in varied types of cars, from road legal vehicles, and tuned performance cars, to full-blown race cars, to push both man and machine to the limit around the 4.189 km Clark International Speedway (CIS).
Blessed with clear blue skies, the Gulf Trackday attracted a total of 185 participants last 4th of November 2023. All participants were given a quick, but comprehensive driver safety briefing by no less than JP Castellano and Milo Rivera before they were allowed to go out on track. Drivers were then released in groups in sessions that lasted ’til the skies turned orange.
Aside from the on-track action, there were also other festivities behind the pit wall. It allowed Gulf Oil to showcase its new expansive product portfolio of Passenger Car Motor Oil that suit different type of applications.
Gulf Formula Elite is the brand’s advanced full synthetic engine oil with ThermoShield Technology. It’s designed for high-performance applications such as trackdays and motorsport competitions. Gulf Ultrasynth GDI, on the other hand, is a fully synthetic oil with Wear-Guard Agents that help protect engines against damaging wear to ensure a smooth driving experience. Lastly, Gulf Max is a semi-synthetic mineral oil with Engine Clean Technology to help prevent build-up of harmful deposits to ensure a longer engine life.
