Isuzu drives adventure forward at the Overland Kings CampOut in Zambales

In an exhilarating fusion of off-road prowess and outdoor camaraderie, Isuzu took the spotlight at this year’s Overland Kings CampOut held from February 9-11 at Crystal Beach, Zambales. Drawing in more than 100 outdoor enthusiasts, the event underscored the blossoming culture of overlanding – a lifestyle that combines camping with the thrill of driving in rugged terrains.

Isuzu’s participation with its overlanding-ready units the new Isuzu D-MAX and Isuzu mu-X models, highlighted the brand’s commitment to promoting a lifestyle of adventure. Both vehicles run on a 4JJ3-TCX 3.0-liter Blue Power engine capable to provide 190PS maximum power and 450N-m maximum torque, giving its customers more confidence to traverse any terrain while overlading. Flexible in many different ways, the vehicles were fully equipped with essential camping accessories like awning, roof tents, drawers, and showers, ensuring a blend of comfort and adventure.

The Overland Kings CampOut, expertly led by Joel Pedro’s dynamism, offered an immersive experience into the world of overlanding. The three-day event was packed with activities designed to foster community spirit among participants and provide a platform for learning and exchange. From sponsor displays to expert talks on overlanding basics and 4×4 driving, the event was a comprehensive introduction of novices and a deep dive of seasoned practitioners.

One of the highlights was the celebration on Saturday night, which featured delectable offerings from SARSA’s kitchen, acoustic entertainment, and fireworks display in honor of the Chinese New Year. This festive culmination not only added to the event’s charm but also underscored the communal spirit that overlanding promotes.

IPC President Tetsuya Fujita expressed his enthusiasm for the event, noting “This is the kind of lifestyle we want to promote to our customers – enjoying their vehicle in weekend activities like overlanding, and spending time with family and friends. We are very happy to be able to join this event and spend time with the overlanding community.”

The success of the Overland Kings CampOut in Zambales with Isuzu’s active participation marks a significant milestone in promoting the overlanding culture in the Philippines. It showcases the potential of overlanding to bring people together, encouraging them to explore the great outdoors while fostering a sense of community.
