Chevrolet PH Bridges Generations at MIAS 2024

From April 4 to 7, 2024, Chevrolet Philippines’ anticipated return to the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) celebrates the Philippine launch of the Bowtie brand’s global tagline, “Together Let’s Drive” at the aptly themed “Generation Chevrolet” booth. 

Together let’s drive’ embodies Chevrolet’s commitment to deep, sustained engagement with its owners and communities across generations. With its storied past, Chevrolet consistently goes hand in hand with its customers, offering a blend of inspiring design, intrinsic value, and exceptional performance, all the while driving forward with groundbreaking technology and coveted features.

While the planned highlights and fun activities of “Generation Chevrolet” will offer guests a diverse display of the brand’s timeless appeal and purposeful innovation that meets the ever-evolving needs of consumers since its debut in the motoring scene in 1911.

Chevrolet lovers will be treated to two themed displays at two locations: World Trade Center and SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The booths are designed to inspire sharing of personal encounters with the brand and offer a chance to test drive the current models on display and win exclusive freebies.

View the first-generation Corvette at the World Trade Center booth alongside its current iteration. Known as “America’s Sports Car,” it debuted in 1953 and continues to enthrall racing fans from all over. 

The enduring legacy of this badge is now in today’s Corvette Stingray Coupe 3LT Z51, boasting the first mid-engine V8 layout of the famed badge, mated to an 8-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission. More than the sportier layout, the race car has been equipped with today’s requisite tech and safety systems—Performance Traction Management, Driver Assistance System, and 8” MyLink System made up of Wireless Apple CarPlay& Android Auto, Bose Performance System with 14 Speakers, GPS Navigation, and Wireless Charging.

Then, head over to the SMX Convention Center to experience both the First- and Sixth-generation Camaro, also one of the most recognizable sports cars, with over five million sold since its introduction in the 1960s. 

Now on its sixth iteration, the Camaro boasts a responsive 2.0L Turbo Intercooled Cast-Aluminum Engine, enhancing reliability and fuel efficiency with an array of new technologies. With a strong emphasis on practical performance and safety, the latest model features state-of-the-art StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control and advanced Anti-Collision technology. Brembo® brakes with 4-piston calipers provide significant stopping power, ensuring drivability up to 80 km/hr. 

Joining these two legends at the WTC and SMX displays are current models, the Chevrolet Trax, Tracker, Trailblazer, Tahoe, and Suburban.

The New Generation Chevrolet Trax is carefully designed to match its aggressive style and performance with the convenience and capacity of an all-around crossover vehicle. This bigger, bolder, and more refined urban vehicle boasts an unmistakable fascia with New Chevy-signature LED high-eye DRL and headlamps; 1.2L Turbo Prime Engine mated to 6-speed AT; a spacious cabin and cargo capacity of up to 1405L; 8-way Power Adjust Driver Seat; and state-of-the-art safety and Driver Assistance System.

The Chevrolet Tracker redefines the concept of a reliable daily driver, merging fuel efficiency with modern functionality. At its heart lies a 1.0L DOHC DVVT Turbo engine, achieving a noteworthy balance of power and fuel economy. Its 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and front-wheel drive ensures a smooth, responsive ride. The design focuses on efficiency without compromising on comfort, featuring a MacPherson strut front suspension, a compound crank rear axle, and ventilated disc brakes that together deliver a stable, comfortable driving experience. Inside, it offers a sophisticated Jet Black interior with distinct stitching options, an 8-inch Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, and a suite of driver information tools designed to enhance every journey.

The Trailblazer sets a new standard in the SUV category, combining a sleek design with cutting-edge safety features. Its GM E-Turbo engine and efficient transmission options ensure eco-friendly performance. Notably, it leads its segment in safety, boasting accolades like the #2 Best Small SUV of 2023 by JD Power, 2022 IIHS Top Safety Pick, and a 2023 NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score. These recognitions highlight the Trailblazer’s commitment to safety, making it an ideal choice for the safety-conscious new generation.

The Chevrolet Tahoe, engineered for spirited outdoor adventures, doesn’t hold back with its robust 5.3L Gas EcoTec3 V8 engine, delivering 355 horsepower and 518 Nm of torque, coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and versatile Auto 4WD. Its dynamic suspension system, featuring independent setups at both ends and ventilated disc brakes, ensures a smooth yet responsive ride. The Chevrolet Suburban is the longest continuous use automobile nameplate in production. It doesn’t disappoint with a capacity of 41.5 cubic feet (1,175L) that can extend up to 144.7 cubic feet (4,098L) with all seats folded. The sophisticated traveler can confidently, safely, and comfortably get around with its 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 and 4WD 10-speed AT, generous passenger space, class-leading Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, Magneride Suspension, and Dynamic Fuel Management, the most extensive Driver Assistance System and Enhanced Stability Control, and 10.2” Chevrolet MyLink infotainment with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto.
