The construction of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX)’s Phase 1 is 97 percent complete, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways.
The CLLEX’s Package 1 is composed of a 4.1-kilometer, four-lane expressway with provision for an underpass bridge and two farm passages.
The entire CLLEX Phase 1 is divided into four packages which involves the construction of a 30-kilometer, four-lane expressway that is set to cut the usual travel time from Tarlac City to Cabanatuan City from 70 minutes to 20 minutes.
The road project will cross the municipalities of La Paz, in Tarlac and Zaragoza, and Aliaga in Nueva Ecija. Once completed, a daily average of 11,200 motorists are expected to benefit from the four-lane expressway.
“This project will decongest Daang Maharlika by 48 percent by serving as an alternate route to and from the two cities. Aside from that, we expect the project to promote more livelihood opportunities in Region 3 that will further contribute in reducing traffic in Metro Manila,” Secretary Mark Villar said.
