The 3.7-kilometer segment of Skyway Stage 3 from Buendia to Plaza Dilao in Manila is now open to motorists.
DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said that the Skyway Stage 3’s Plaza Dilao ramp has been opened to traffic in order to ease traffic congestion in Buendia.
A 40-kph speed limit is being implemented along the main viaduct while ramps have a speed limit of 20 kph, according to Villar.
Meanwhile, the DPWH Secretary also announced that the construction of the Skyway is now at 60 percent completion, with Sections 1 and 3 both at 80 percent.
“Section 1 from Buendia Avenue, Makati City to Quirino Avenue in Nagtahan, Manila is now 83-percent completed, while Section 3 from Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Balintawak is 81-percent completed,” said Secretary Villar.
Villar said that other sections are also being fast-tracked in order to ensure that the Skyway’s main line from Buiendia to Balintawak meets its target completion which is expected by the first quarter of 2020.
The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 is an 18.68-kilometer elevated expressway which spans across Metro Manila from Buendia, Makati, Balintawak, and Quezon City.
