All-New Audi Q5 debuts in the Philippines

Audi Philippines brings the all-new, third-generation Q5. Marking the next important step in the rejuvenation of the Four Rings’ SUV line-up, it continues with the same proven concept—mixing modernity, spaciousness, and dynamism, but elevates it further in a way only Audi can.

The all-new Q5 is the first model to ride on the brand-new Premium Platform Combustion architecture. This allows Audi to develop models with high technical standards—ride, handling, comfort, safety—while giving each a distinct character with the same underlying Audi DNA underneath.

At the heart of the third-generation Q5 is a longitudinally mounted electrified 2.0-liter TFSI powertrain mated to a 7-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission. The combustion engine alone produces 204 horsepower—a number that’s already dynamically impressive. Further supplementing that is a powertrain generator that puts out an additional 24 horsepower and 230 Nm. Combined, it makes 240 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque.

Additional performance aside, this setup improves overall fuel efficiency. The Q5 can propel itself in pure electric mode at low speeds and at cruising. As such, it’s classified as Hybrid Electric Vehicle enabling perks such as number coding exemption in Metro Manila. It also improves overall passenger comfort. For example, even when the combustion engine is switched off, the climate control continues to operate at full power, keeping the interior at a comfortable temperature.

In terms of design, the all-new Q5 is all about purity and dynamism. With a strong silhouette as its starting base, Audi added a strong shoulder line that connects the front and rear lights. A rising line running over the wheel arches and into the rear bumper gives a dynamic appearance. The front is self-confident with the Audi rings in a 2D look as well as LED headlights with automatic high beam control. The rear is extremely clean thanks to a reduction in superfluous lines. Key design features include aluminum roof rails, a roof edge spoiler, panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and wheel sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches depending on the variant.

Inside, the Q5 is all about providing a welcoming ambience. The human-centric design equates to visual clarity meaning function and aesthetics come together as one. It also means thoughtful touches such as a heat-reflecting windshield and side glass, and manual sunshades in the rear side windows. Like modern Audis, the central tenet here is the Digital Stage which sets up clear, easy to understand displays. The driver gets the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit, while at the center, there’s the 14.5-inch MMI touch display. Creature comfort features include illuminated door sills, power adjustable front seats with memory, 3-zone climate control, and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound system.

Counterbalancing all the technology, the Q5’s Material Driven Design helps create a homey ambience. This is realized through the soft wrap element that runs from door to door across the entire width of the dashboard. This philosophy of material-driven design also offers unique material combinations such as Lime Sediment Natural and Silver Gray inlays in the Philippine spec model.

The latest generation Q5 is also more practical than ever before. There are numerous storage compartments for smaller items as well as a feeling of space with excellent head and legroom for all occupants. A particularly practical feature is the rear seat that can be moved lengthways and tilted increasing the leg room or cargo room. At the back, the luggage compartment cover can be stowed in a specially designed compartment under the floor.

Finally, the latest generation of driver assistance systems is present in the Q5. This significantly improves everyday life and road safety. These features include parking system plus w/ distance display, park assist plus, surround view cameras, lane departure warning, front cross-traffic assist, swerve assist and turn assist, side assist and exit warning w/ rear-cross traffic assist and rear turn assist, adaptive cruise control, and tire pressure loss indicator.

The all-new, third-generation Q5 is set to continue Audi’s success in the premium mid-size segment. As a sporty all-rounder with a human-centric design, it’s the start of Audi’s renewal of its entire SUV range. For the Philippine market, it comes in three variants—the Premium, S line, and SQ5—all of which are now available for reservations.
