Got conduction stickers? You’ll get plates this year — LTO

Conduction stickers, check. License plates, check, before the end of the year.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) assured the public, in a post on its LTO-National Capital Region Facebook account, that all types of vehicles that currently have conduction stickers will get their license plates before the year ends as mandated by law.

The agency also announced that license plates of vehicles registered from July 1, 2016 to December 2018 can now be claimed at their respective dealerships or agents.

The agency added that license plates of four-wheeled vehicles and above registered from 2015 up to July 30, 2016 are currently in production, and that the Notice of Disallowance by the Commission on Audit (COA) was the reason behind the postponement of license plate production. This order has already been lifted, allowing the LTO to work on addressing the backlog of plates.

Once production is completed before the end of year, the LTO vowed to immediately notify the public about it.

As for motorcycle plates, the agency said it is still waiting RA 11235’s implementing rules and regulations before they can begin production. The Republic Act seeks to prevent and penalize “the use of motorcycles in the commission of crimes by requiring bigger, readable, and color-coded number plates and identification marks, and for other purposes.”
