Suzuki closes 2019 with 21% sales growth

Suzuki Philippines (SPH), the pioneer in compact car distribution, solidified its strong performance with a 21.17-percent increase covering all four quarters of the past year. The consistent boost in sales was the realization of the company’s aggressive sales and marketing efforts throughout 2019 reflecting their models incuding Ertiga, Vitara, and Celerio as the market’s most enjoyed vehicles for the said year.

“We in Suzuki Philippines are proud to have ended 2019 on a high note. The past year is testament to our accomplishments in our feat to gain the trust of the Filipinos that we are able to give them quality driving experience. As we enter a new year, it is our responsibility to assure our customers that we will continue to be ambitious as we thrive to exceed their expectations through the products and services we offer,” said SPH automobile division director and general manager Keiichi Suzuki.

Following the strong performance of the brand, Keiichi Suzuki is now poised to lead the company as vice president and concurrent general manager of the automobile division effective January 1, 2020.

“Last year was a landmark year for us and we share this success with our customers who continue to support our brand as we continuously provide them with more options that cater to their idea of driving in comfort with newer offerings geared toward the fulfillment of our mission,” he added.

The Ertiga, Vitara, Celerio emerged as the most favored models in the market as Suzuki’s top-selling vehicles. The three models complete the increase of total sales in 2019 with a combined record of 55 percent.

The Ertiga, with 34 percent share of total sales, solidified its spot as the market’s first choice. SPH positions the MPV as “practical without sacrficing style while offering good engine performance.”

The Vitara ended the year with an 11-percent share of total SPH sales. The award-winning vehicle is characterized by its bold styling and “inner refinement of a full-grown SUV.”

Completing the list is the Celerio, with a 10-percent share of total sales. With fuel efficiency among its many reputable features, the hatchback vehicle provides a spacious interior able to sit five passengers which makes it “the ideal ride for city trips or long travels.”

On top of these bestsellers is Suzuki’s fourth-generation 4×4 model, the all-new Jimny AllGrip Pro, that easily became the brand’s global favorite entry for the year. With its four-wheel drive system with reduction gear, AllGrip Pro “can satisfy the driving performance required by professionals to instantly respond and maneuver through difficult terrain.”
