Yamaha fires up Makina Motoshow with Sport Machines

Yamaha Motor Philippines has returned to the Makina Motoshow, the country’s biggest annual motorcycle event, to showcase their latest CODE: REV booth at the Inside Racing Bike Fest 2023 held last March 24 to 26 at the World Trade Center.

This experiential booth has tons of fun activities in store for the visitors. Here, guests had the chance to see and experience the  Next Horizon category of the Sport Machines with the Ténéré models. Adventure traveling takes skill, courage, and endurance – as well as faith in your machine. The Super Ténéré is built from the ground up to be the most exciting next-generation adventure tourer, combining Yamaha’s Dakar-bred toughness and reliability with light, easy handling, and advanced rider-assist technology.

The Ténéré 700, a go-anywhere motorcycle driven by a high-torque 689cc 2-cylinder engine equipped with a specially optimized transmission that gives you the ideal balance of power and control, is a rally-bred long-distance adventure bike built to master a wide range of riding conditions on the dirt or asphalt. And it is now available in the latest colors of Icon Blue and Tech Camo.

But Yamaha’s booth was not just about adventure bikes – the Dark Side of Japan was also represented, with the MT-10 SP and MT-07 on display. These bikes, born from Yamaha’s philosophy of “Master of Torque,” are designed to deliver an exciting, adrenaline-fueled riding experience. The MT-10 SP, in particular, is a special edition bike that takes the already-impressive MT-10 to the next level, with a full Öhlins suspension, lightweight carbon fiber bodywork, and exclusive silver and blue paint scheme.

The Faster Sons were also honored in Yamaha’s booth, with the XSR900 and XSR700 taking pride of place. These bikes are a tribute to Yamaha’s iconic racing heritage, with a retro-modern design that combines old-school style with cutting-edge technology. The XSR900, in particular, is a powerful and agile machine, with an 847cc crossplane engine that delivers massive torque and a chassis that is both lightweight and nimble.

The R World was also present, with the YZF-R1M and YZF-R7 showcasing Yamaha’s racing pedigree. The YZF-R1M, Yamaha’s flagship superbike, is designed to deliver the ultimate racing experience. With a 998cc crossplane engine, carbon fiber bodywork, and advanced electronic rider aids, it is the pinnacle of Yamaha’s engineering prowess. The YZF-R7, meanwhile, is a mid-range supersport bike that combines Yamaha’s racing DNA with everyday usability. With a 689cc parallel-twin engine, lightweight chassis, and aerodynamic bodywork, it is built to deliver exhilarating performance on both the track and the street.

For those who prefer the open road, the Tracer 9 GT was on display, built for the Roads of Life. This touring bike is designed to offer comfort, convenience, and performance in equal measure, with an 890cc engine that delivers smooth power and a range of advanced rider-assist technologies that make long-distance travel a breeze. With its adjustable windscreen, heated grips, and comfortable seating position, the Tracer 9 GT is a true all-rounder that can handle any road with ease.

But perhaps the most unique aspect of Yamaha’s presence at the Makina Motoshow was the custom-built XSR 155 motorcycles. Created by Motobuilds Pilipinas competition entrants Adrian Reyes Jacinto, Jed Patrick Oriña, and Seiko Serrano, these motorcycles added a personal touch to the already-impressive lineup on display.

The XSR 155 is a popular model in the Philippines, known for its versatility and style. The three builders took the bike to the next level, showcasing their creativity and passion for customization.

Yamaha’s dedication to motorcycle enthusiasts was evident in every aspect of their presentation at the Makina Motoshow. From the carefully curated lineup of motorcycles to the interactive displays and activities, Yamaha went above and beyond to engage with their customers and provide an unforgettable experience. Visitors to the booth were treated to a different experience that allowed them to explore the Ténéré models in a completely new way.

Through its unyielding dedication to motorcycle enthusiasts of every lifestyle, Yamaha continues to innovate and cultivate their model lineup. The Sport Machines are a testament to this commitment, and every edition of their presentation serves to further cement its position as a leader in the CTA.
