A truck driver’s careless turn could have proven fatal for a motorcycle rider.
A truck driver allegedly fled after his vehicle violently hit a moto rider in Carmona Cavite on Sunday. In a dashcam video posted by Rosette Vicente on Facebook, the truck driver can be seen making a U-turn while vehicles patiently wait for him to complete the maneuver into the opposite side of the road.
But a few meters after making the turn, the truck then slowed down and suddenly made a left – without signaling. A biker on the truck’s left side was hit – throwing him off his motorcycle as the vehicle all but disintegrated under the six-wheeler.
The biker got to his feet and appeared to limp as the truck continued to speed away.
“Sana ma-revoke yung license ng truck driver na to! He did not bother to stop at all after ng mabangga niya yung motor. Binilisan pa nya drive sa loob ng Golden Mile (I hope the truck driver’s license is revoked. He did not bother to stop at all after hitting the motorcycle. He even sped towards Golden Mile),” Vicente said.
“I hope the victim is okay and that the truck driver will be apprehended,” she added.
In the comments section, some netizens noted that the driver of the truck appeared to be a “beginner.”
The Land Transportation Office said that motorcycle accidents are the ninth leading cause of deaths among Filipinos.
